I'm looking for a wide angle lens

I was looking for a wide angle lens for my Sony camcorder and I found this one on Sony's web site. I was wondering if this lens is any good, I don't want to spend a lot of money on a lens.

Are they REALLY that better? I've been thinking about picking up one for my camera but have been very hesitant since I usually gett pretty good pics out of my stock lens...

Best Buy usually has some good ones around $35, that fits all cameras.

As you can see I have the same one. It works great and you can pick it up at Best Buy for $50.
