cookiex
Hello all! Today I'd like to showcase you a park I've been working on, using mostly OpenRCT2 and its various features to build a completely new version of the Six Flags Magic Mountain scenario, titled Silver Park Magic Mountain. The park is far from complete, with only two areas having been finished so far, but that won't stop me from giving you a sneak peek! Here's an overview of what's been completed so far. As guests proceed to Technoland, one of two completed areas, they see the station for the yet unfinished monorail. But what more likely catches their attention is Hydrostorm, one of the world's only Mack PowerSplash coasters (think Pulsar at Walibi Belgium). And yes, it totally works! The central hub in Technoland has more than a few sights. The draw here is likely to be Vortex. Inspired by Eurosat, Vortex is a completely indoors Mack steel coaster with a spiral lift, sharp drops and even sharper turns, all in the dark! On the other side of the central hub one of Magic Mountain's most technologically impressive attractions is situated, Metal Slug: The Ride! Based on the SNK arcade game, Metal Slug is a 3D dark ride with fast-paced action and the guests going in reverse! It's one of Magic Mountain's more popular attractions, judging by the line. One of the park's more unique attractions would be Bumper Boat Battle Arena, a massive stage where guests duel one another with several icy obstacles to circle and hide between. Sadly the stands are just for show. Over at the east side Technoland's newest addition lies. What hides behind the Quartzcorp building? Rita introduces the world's first Flying Cobra Roll! Riders say this unique inversion pulls some serious Gs! A B&M flying coaster named Mech Suit Heroine Rita, of course! The story is that the guests are enhanced with robotic components that lets them fly through the air! The main action takes place on Quartzcorp's training course. Up on the mountain we find good old Sky Tower and the entrance to Samurai Summit. Samurai Summit is home to several coasters, not the least being Golden Luck Dragon, a B&M inverted coaster with six inversions and a maximum speed of 59mph! Golden Luck Dragon's giant loop towers over the midway as guests either enter or exit Technoland. Golden Luck Dragon travels all the way out to the back culminating in a massive cobra roll. The second coaster is Jade Tower Spiral Coaster, a Schwarzkopf Jumbo Jet with a custom layout and a 43mph top speed! The big spiral lift is completely indoors and themed. Shanghai Spin is a Zamperla Disk-O Coaster that proves to be quite popular. Up on the summit lies Magic Mountain's greatest coaster yet though. Guests are warned of a dragon that rests on the tallest mountain in all the land, and those that disturbs his slumber shall be greeted with a devastating Dragonfire. Once the dragon has been awakened, this Mack launched coaster inspired by Liseberg's Helix and Europa Park's Blue Fire swoops over the land and destroys everything in its wake. The ride is timed so that two trains have a close encounter, one as it flies high into the sky, the other as it descends on the poor village down below. Unfortunately not many guests took heed to the warnings, as Dragonfire proved to be very popular. More to come in a future update! cookiex
Small update: The specs for the six coasters shown in the previous update In order to satisfy demand for Dragonfire, the park management decided to install a temporary queue that reached all the way down to Jade Tower Spiral Coaster. Even that queue filled up fast! The management considered whether or not to do the same with Metal Slug (whose queue is still longer than Dragonfire even after the latter's extension) but decided against it. cookiex
Another small update: Dragonfire's popularity causes a spillover effect to nearby attractions. Kite Spin and Jade Tower Spiral Coasters both have full queues. Meanwhile the park added a skyway tram to the east side of Technoland running from Metal Slug to the roman arches. It's rather short right now but plans are to extend it in the future.
Canobie Coaster
Cool concept to rebuild Six Flags Magic Mountain! So far your park has a little more charm and I really like the HydroStorm ride. It's amazing what hacks can do in this game.
