StevenX Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 My partner and I are going to Europa Park for the first time next weekend, and would love to hear any useful tips from people who have been before. We'll be on park all day Sunday 25th (well, from about 09:30, as we have to drop our bags off at the hotel after our train gets in) and Monday 26th. I'm guessing both days, particularly the Sunday, will be pretty busy? I'm hoping the 2 days will be enough for us to ride all the coasters and most of the dark rides and a couple water rides. Is there any particular rides we should hit first, or route to go? Would there be any rides we'd be best saving for the Monday to make the most of our time? Any helpful tips would be great to hear! Also, any recommendations for (quick!) lunch on-park or dinner off-park?
vuurvogel Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Europa Park is a wonderfull park and you will have lots of fun. The coaster I would say you need to hit as early as possible will be matterhorn blitz because of low capacity. Poseidon can have long lines due to capacity and blue fire sometimes because of popularity. Food is well distributed and diverse inside the park. Just find your fancy. For dinner outside the park I would recommend das altes rathaus with seating next to the river and nice german food or Ochsen. You will find several places in Rust just a 10 minute walk from the park entrance. We will be there with a few TPR peeps next Friday and Saturday Have fun and be sure to also explore the more quiet areas of the park because it holds some beautiful landscaping and serenity
StevenX Posted May 28, 2014 Author Posted May 28, 2014 Thanks for the response. We ended up eating in the evening at the Colosseo buffet (pretty good - particularly deserts) and at Silver Lake Saloon (OK food, but very slow service). During the day we ate at Mille Fleurs (decent pizza for the price) one day, and some Asian place in Holland (average). The Sunday was pretty quiet. Longest queue of the day was 35 minutes (Wodan), and the park stayed open until 7pm. Monday was busier, with longest queue being 40 minutes and the park weirdly only open until 6.30pm. All in all we managed to do Wodan (x5), Blue Fire (x5), Silver Star (x5), Euro Mir (x5), MatterhornBlitz (x2), Swiss Bobsleigh Run (x2), Euro Sat, Universe of Energy, Ghost Castle, piccolo Mondo, EuroTower, Poseidon, Cassandra's CUrse, Pegasus, Atlantis Adventure, Pirates in Batavia, Fjord Rafting, Alpine Coaster & Atlantica SuperSplash - so I think we did pretty well. It's a lovely park. Really wonderful theming and rides, and run pretty nicely - although I do think that improvements could be made. The level of finish wasn't quite what it could have been in some areas, and the cleanliness was so-so in some areas. Most rides were great, although I think they're short of a really great dark ride. Hopefully Arthur helps that. Silver Star, Blue Fire, Euro Mir and Wodan are all excellent and really get better with repeat riding.
