TPT Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 I'm currently writing a paper on this subject, and was wondering if anyone would be able to point me towards any articles, videos or interviews on roller coaster design. The difficulty is that I'm not so much interested in the mechanics, physics or engineering of coasters which seem to dominate articles like this (although I wouldn't say no to sources like this if anyone recommends them), instead my interest is more in the experiential, aesthetic and narrative design of coasters - how coaster design can create different emotions (such as through rhythm and pacing), create a personality for the ride, and tell stories. Does anyone know of any sources like this? Thanks for the help!
BrandonR Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Some of John Wardley's interviews would be a good starting point for this, as I seem to recall reading stuff of his where it dived down into such topics. Google "John Wardley interview" and you may find some good stuff!
