Sir Clinksalot Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I got RCT3 for my birthday. I tried installing it yesterday and it kept telling me my cd key was invalid. No biggie, I took it back today and got another one. Now I'm trying to install the new one, same thing. WTF am I doing wrong? I emailed Atari support but it will take 3 - 4 business days ... WTF??? Has anybody else had this problem with RCT3? I have NEVER had any problem on a game like this. EVER. HELP!!!!!
FlyingScooter Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Welcome to RCT3: Where the usual and simple take on whole new meanings. Please don't take this the wrong way: are you typing in the code exactly like it is on the box? CAP for CAPs, - for -'s and so forth. I found mine to be case sensitive. Never had that w/any other game. I'll be on TPR throughout the day and this evening to help you.
Sir Clinksalot Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 Yes. I have tried it in upper case, lowe case, with the hyphens, without the hyphens ... etc, etc, etc. I'm annoyed.
FlyingScooter Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Try looking in here: http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=7e98f4a92dc6a617dbef7250f650e406&forumid=315 I'll keep looking to see what i can find for you.
Sir Clinksalot Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 ^ Thanks. I checked those boards and found that I'm not the only person this has happened to. Other people have reported getting a slip of paper in their game saying that the key is invalid and giving them a new one. No suck luck for me. I guess I will just take it back ... again. This is ridiculous. This game had better be worth it.
kenshinmac Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Wow where do they let you take it back... All the stores I buy PC games from keep saying that I can't return them because they have a unique cd key... Ugh... Worst thing is... I really hate to be a drag... But for me RCT3 was only worth really playing once I got Soaked too... I loved the scenarios in it so much more and the lack of tunnels really killed my designs...
Sir Clinksalot Posted August 24, 2005 Author Posted August 24, 2005 ^ Target let me take it back today. I'm going to go to another Target in a few minutes and take it back again. Hopefully this one will work.
FlyingScooter Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 WalMart's good for taking back software. They'll even give you your cash back instead of making you take a due-bill or instore credit. SuperCrack: glad that site helped you. It's bailed me out a few times. Man, you sound just like i did when i had problems: first w/RCT3 and then w/Soaked. Once it runs, it's great... It should've been titled: RCT3(Quest for a running Park)
