Thrillride93 Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Hello everybody my name is Jack and ive been a member of this site for a while but ive never really posted anything. Anyway I live in the greater boston area and am planning a trip to New York/Canada for the end of august/beginning of september 2011. Im really big into fairs and flat rides so the trip will be a little different than most and have a lot more stops. The tentative schedule that I have is this Day 1-Lake Compounce, Quassy, Rye, Stop In Rhinebeck NY Day 2-Dutchess County Fair Rhinebeck NY,Sylven Beach,Stop in Toronto Day 3-Canadas Wonderland, Canada National Exhibition, Marineland Niagra Falls Ontario Stop in Grand Island NY Day 4-Martins Fantasy Island, Darien Lake, Seabreeze Stop in Syracuse NY Day 5-New York State Fair Syracuse NY, Fonda Fair Fonda NY Stop in Schagiticoke NY Day 6-Schaghitoke Fair Schaghitoke NY, Columbia Fair Chatham Ny, Six Flags New England If you guys could go you answer these questions 1.What do you think the estimated cost would be for this trip (I have a six flags season pass and plan on buying unlimited ride wristbands at every fair) 2.Would it be cheaper to stay in a motel every night or to bring a camper and sleep in there 3.Are there any other good attractions in any of these areas 4.If I plan to ride flats and coasters in each park how long would i spend in each park 5.Which of these places has the largest crowds. Thank You
Carnage Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Canada's Wonderland, CNE, and Marineland seems like it might be tough to fit in one day. Especially if you want to do everything at CW. CW and just the CNE would be more reasonable. Only if you just wanted to ride some rides at the CNE, and not see any of the exhibitions.
Thrillride93 Posted July 8, 2010 Author Posted July 8, 2010 I wasnt sure about that day. I only want to ride the two coasters magic adventure topple tower and hurricane cove at marineland so i thought i might be able to squeeze it in. Do you think I could do it the next day and still be able to do everything as planned.
Carnage Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Actually, I just checked Marineland's operating schedule and it probably guarantees that you wouldn't be able to do Wonderland, CNE, and Marineland in the same day. June 26, 2010 to September 5, 2010Admission booths are open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. After ticket booths have closed, park attractions continue to operate until nightfall. So it looks like you'd have to get to Marineland by 6. With travel time you'd have cut the day at Wonderland really early. Do you think I could do it the next day and still be able to do everything as planned. If you were at Marineland at opening, you might be able to get what you want done in an hour-ish. Marineland isn't far from MFI, so you might be able to do what you want on that day. Though, Seabreeze could be hit or miss due to travel time. Is there any specific reason you want to go to the CNE? It doesn't seem to have the most stellar ride lineup. Not sure if any coasters will be there. I think they might have a crazy mouse.
Thrillride93 Posted July 9, 2010 Author Posted July 9, 2010 O wow thanks for the info about marineland I wasnt aware of that im really into fairs and looking at last years lineup i see 11 rides (Banzai,Crazy Mouse,Zipper,Rainbow, Orbiter,Mega Drop, Scorpion, larson fireball, kmg fireball, Starship 4000, Swing Tower) that i would like to ride. Most of those rides dont come to fairs around me so its like an amusement park to me. Although im pretty sure most of those rides go to the Big E about a month later so I could skip the CNE and go to the Big E.
