jpdupuis Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Hi! I was just wondering if anybody could help me on my new coaster. I did the layout, but i'm having trouble with smoothing and supports... So if anybody could help me, it would be VERY appreciated. Thank Jpdupuis
hyyyper Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Smoothness and supports are both things you'll only learn by doing it a lot. The key to smoothing is making the track flow from one vertex to another. You do thing by changing the lengths of the control points. If the control points are to long, you'll see a bump in the middle of the segment. If the control points are to short, you'll see two bumps near the vertices. No Limits has a fine tool, the auto smoother, but that doesn't always work. As for supports, they are easy to make, but hard to actually build. As soon as you understand the basics, like placing and connecting nodes with different tubes, you can look at real coasters and see how they are supported. When applying those structures to your coaster, you'll get a very good result.
hobbit Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 (sorry for my bad english) what also very handy is, on the right side of your bend decrees ( with +45 +10 +1 0 -1 -10 - 45 you see : LOCK - CONROLL - RELROLL. what is that? just open no limits... en make a right piece of track, (make it straight) select it (the track is now white) and click on that groon icon with a star inside. (now you have another blue ball in it. turn the blue ball (in the end of the straight piece 100 (or something else) decrees to the right or left) now you can see that the first track going a little bit to the other site.. now click on the blue ball in the middel en click on CONROLL, now you can see that the first piece is straight, you can also lock the blue ball. this is very handy to make bends and stuff (pre drops etc.) i hope i can give you a explanation you can also use tools: check this link: http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/toolbox huse the track/note Smooth BUT WARING... IF YOU HUSE THE TRACK/NOTE SMOOTHER.. DONT SAVE YOUR TRACK WHAT YOU JUST HAVE MAKE SMOOTH WITH THE TOOL OVER THE TRACK WITH NO TOOLS (SOMETHIME THE TOOL MAKES YOUR RIDE MORE UGLY AND NOTSMOOTH) do you understand that? (sorry for my bad english) i try to learn it very good
