Going on a trip...to Tokyo-to

Hello all,

As a long time lurker of the site I’ve been greatly blessed by the great laughs that I’ve received from the wonderful photo journeys that your groups post – especially those related to the, at times wacky, Japanese culture. After said good times, I’m now hoping that I can give back to the community in some way by posting my own adventure in the forums, but before I can due so I was hoping to get some help.

My wife and I will be leaving next week to the land of the rising sun for three weeks on a primarily cultural trip but would love to sandwich some great theme parks in-between. At current we are already planning on visiting Tokyo DisneyLand and DisneySea, but from there we are a little bit lost as to where we should visit.

In other parts of the web it seems as if Fuji-Q was well received so naturally I put in my list of places to go. Now from reading some rants on the site it seems as my idea has flipped, or at least I can gather from reading that some would want the place to burn down that there may be some reason to reconsider.

Personally I am a fan ride intensity over theme, while my wife is the opposite – and has chosen Disney already. So, with the opportunity to visit two parks anywhere on the main chain of islands, where would you recommend and why? If Fuji-Q happens to be one of those two then that is fine, but if it’s not worth the time then let me know.

Thank you much.

Fuji-Que would not be my first choice. I have been twice and both times the experience was not good. Low capacity coasters with terrible operations. 95% of my time there was waiting in line and the coasters are just meh.

I would look into Nagashima Spaland. Good mix of coasters and the operations weren't to bad. Both times there I got multiple rides on all coasters.

As for theming, DisneySea is the pinnacle in Japan. Nothing else comes close.

Thank you much. I will have to make sure to look into asap - especially seeing how I will be taking off next Thursday.

After looking at all the photos that I can of Disney Sea I knew it was a place that we would have to visit. We have three wonderful weeks in Japan but Melissa (my wife) is the more psyched about this park then she is about anything else.
