Well, there are a few things to do in Charleston, South Carolina, one of them being Cypress Gardens (not to be confused with the one in Florida with the carny rides). But, it was an interesting thing.

A few facts, this park had two movies shot on location. The first being The Patriot, if youve seen the movie, you can see in the background (forgot which scene, but its during a foggy morning in the swamp) a destroyed church. That building can be seen as you enter the swamp area. The second movie being shot was (more recently) The Notebook.

Anyways, this little park had one "ride", a canoe excursion into the swamp. You can go by yourself or with a guide, so my family and I went by ourselves and paddled. Throughout the course, you awe at the tall Big Cypress Trees that canopy the area and the hundreds of lily pads that litter the water and pray to yourself that you don't startle a gator. There was one headchopper (which I think it should be considered a ride ) when you go under a bridge (and yes, you really have to duck!). After 45 minutes of venturing the swamp waters, we then went to the mini zoo thing the park had to offer.

The zoo was relatively small, it had a Butterfly Habitat, a Reptile Habitat, and an Aquarium. The reptile habitat had perky tortoises and got some nice pictures of them feasting on lunch. There were also various gators and crocodiles sunning themselves (and there was a gator having a threesome with two turtles ). After that, we headed to the aquarium, the aquarium was, in one word, LAME. When you entered, it smelled pretty bad and the whole aquarium was practically nothing but big ass Catfish and these screwed up eels with arms (water snakes?). Further back into the aquarium was more reptiles and birds. There were toucans, but then some funny stuff was back in the reptile portion.

The first sight being a giant Anaconda resting, and right next to the snake? None other than three dead rabbits, waiting to be devoured. After that, I think I saw Robb's grandfather, a big and slimy Bullfrog that looked like Jabba the Hut. Nasty ain't it?

After that, we went into the butterfly habitat, but it was boring there, no butterflies landed on anybody and they were all huddled in a corner of the building. After that, we left after a great time.

If your ever in Charleston and have some time to waste, drive over to Cypress Gardens, its a really nice place with a headchopper and some gorgeous splendors of nature.

Pics will be up when I return though (forgot to pack my USB cable )
