california screamin Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I will be visiting busch gardens williamsburg on the saturday over fourth of july weekend. I am sure that the park will be absolutely slammed. I will be able to spend the entire day at the park. This was my plan of action for the day - Arrive at the park at least one half hour early. Run to Griffon. Then over to Dar-Kastle. Then to Alpengeist. After that, I will run over to AC, and get as many rides in as possible before the park gets busy. Does this sound like a realistic plan? Also, does BGW have a fastpass system? Thanks guys!!
cfc Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 BGW does not have a fast-pass system (although BGA is apparently experimenting with one). You're right about the park being slammed on July 4th. Your plan makes sense--but get there before opening! Plus, I think I would ride the Big Bad Wolf before Alpengeist (due to the former's lower capacity).
california screamin Posted May 28, 2008 Author Posted May 28, 2008 Yeah. I said above that I planned to arrive at least a half hour early. Do they open the park's gates early like they do at some other parks? And Big Bad Wolf Gets long lines? Thanks for all your help!
cfc Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 ^The line for BBW can get a bit backed up--its capacity is quite a bit lower than the B&Ms (Apollo, Alpengeist, and Griffon). That's why I think I'd try to sneak that one in after Griffon on July 4th. The park gates will be open before the actual park "opening." You might have to wait at Killearney (Ireland) for the "rope drop."
NegaDuck Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Hi Screamin, I'm doing some work with BGW and I'll tell you that there is definitely a fast pass you might want to consider, allowing you to jump ahead to the front of the line. Here you read up on it if you'd like, its called the Quick Queue. As for the Big Bad Wolf lines, you have to expect that it won't fly by as fast as the Griffon, which seats 10 to a row (BBW only sits 2 to a car) but the ride is also pretty quick, so its by no means a notoriously long-line ride. Also, the BBW ride is one of the more isolated rides in terms of its location to other hot spots of the park, so that may also help reduce the lines. I went last Friday and there was absolutely no trouble getting onto any of the rides except for the Alpengeist front row, and even that only took maybe 9 minutes.
