Skyscraper Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I'm flying into Columbus airport on August 25th and then plan to drive to Kennywood and arrive for 5pm-ish. This will be my first time at Kennywood and I would really like some advices to make the most of it ! I know saturdays are really busy and I would like to get on everything ! From all the coasters to the unique flats and water rides ! Is it possible ? Oh and what should I eat at Kennywood ? I don't like liquid cheese so no potato patch for me ! Thanks you all for your advices !
Guest Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Best bet...and this is really depending on how busy the park is as well... Racer, Jack Rabbit and Thunderbolt lines really move. PR depends on a one or two train operation. If its two you should be good as well. Exterminator will be the bitch to wait out. Line will be anywhere between 30-60 minutes. Flats you should ride: Pittfall (for the view) Noah's Ark SwingShot Cosmic Chaos Auto Race Turtles Pittsburg Plunge (if you are into water rides) Log Jammer (if you are into water rides) SS Kenny Best places to eat in the park besides the Potato Patch (you don't have to get cheese on your fries, they do have gravy too or vinegar) Parkside Cafe (sit down restaurant with all kinds of goodies) By the carousel there is this fantastic hoagie (sub) place that is SOOO good. Small Fry is good (get the chicken fingers and patch fries. you can customize those...like I said you don't have to do cheese) You must try Deep Fried Oreos (they are by the log jammer) Other then that, it is doable. Like I said, just depends on the crowds. If you see the ski-lift chairs going from the parking lot, be prepared to wait in a a good few lines.
Skyscraper Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 Thanks Katie for your great advices ! I will try a potato patch now that I know they don't come with melted cheese ! I hope there will be two trains on PR. I guess on a saturday night the chances are high !
Guest Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 You are very welcome. And yes, you have a good chance of PR running two trains on a Saturday. Get ready for some airtime.
