Homer Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 I've been pissed off since Memorial Day 2004 when Discovery decided to replace their annual coaster-show marathon with a marathon of American Chopper. Not that I have anything with motorcycles and low riders, but I hate how all of the coaster/water park shows are on Travel Channel nowadays. And guess what, Comcast doesn't give me Travel Channel, after requesting it to them for like 2 times. Sadly, I can't get satellite since my parents don't want to get DirecTV/Dish Network. So, any way for me to get the Travel Channel? Or (stupid question) any recordings of the shows? Any help would be appreciated...
BelizeIt Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 It's surprising that your cable provider doesn't give you the Travel Channel, since it's part of the Discovery network. I have Cox cable in Orange County,CA, and even with basic cable it includes the Travel Channel. So perhaps your provider will give it in the near future. The problem with the Coaster/Waterpark shows on the Travel Channel is that they haven't changed much over that past couple of years. Just like how they rehash all of the "Vegas" shows all the time. There usually isn't much new footage. You may be able to get some of the shows on DVD since many of these networks are cashing in Big Time through DVD sales.
TheStig Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 Yeah Comcast pretty much sucks down here. They wont set up my house with their cable system thing because im "too close to water" which not a good reason, but then again I live on siesta key so eh what are ya gonna do. But I love the travel channel, and hate American Chopper. Colin C
coasterdude5 Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 I have Time Warner Cable and sometimes if you request a channel, they can include it in your channel package. Also, if you send in enough requests, they might add it. Don't worry, your not missing too much, they only have coaster shows on maybe 4 times a year. Now, it's mostly poker and gambling.
