As they have made numerous improvments including Squirrels and numerous other things - animatronics would you believe! The ride is still not the best, but i'd say it's almost worth riding now.

I'm admittedly not the most observant of people, and I've only ridden Charlie once previously, on the TPR trip, but during my visit week before last I didn't notice any differences, so... To a casual observer there was nothing different! But then, I was just sleeping through the boat portion to get to the "elevator" at the end.
