Shavethewhales Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Bell's is still coming down at a quick pace. Zingo has had much of its track taken off its second half, the 'fair' side has been completely deserted, the log flume is being ripped apart, and some of the buildings are coming down. As a reminder though, Bell's is indeed moving - not closing down forever. Almost all the rides are going to move and open again, and those that don't will be re-built bigger and better than before. In addition to the rides, Bell's old sign and carousel barn will make the move as well. On my visit today I saw workers ripping apart the old log flume, in a rather rough fashion. With the way they are cutting up the trough and ripping off the wood, I don't see how it can survive the move, so maybe a new log flume will be built at the new Bell's. As usual, more photos, commentary, and on-going coverage can be found at my site: www.superstevessupersite.com It looks like the Chili Peppers will come down next. They better re-build this flume or a close replica, it was loads of fun. All the wood was just ripped off and thrown around. Hottie alert. The flume had a few holes in the trough. Phantasmagoria was still being gutted while I was there - it's really did hold a lot of effects and scenes. The Hymalaya left a mess. The fair said they needed this part of the park cleared as soon as possible - for more parking, I'm sure. Looks like the turnaround may have its track removed soon. It looked like some cuts were being made up there. Some of the removed track. Zingo still looks great, even with its track being ripped off. The traditional Bell's sign shot.
snuggles Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 So sad... For a classic coaster and dark ride lover, seeing zingo and phantas being ripped apart like that just makes me want to cry. I can't wait for Bell's 2.0 and phantasmagoria 2.0, and zingo 2.0 ! Rumor has it, Phantasmagoria 2.0 will be 14 minutes long.
thrillrideseeker Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Ok they should so not leave boards laying around with nails in them. I just stepped on a nail because the boards were laying like that. The D@mn nail went straight through my foot. OMG They are not the brightest people. ~Matthew SEE! The nails?
snuggles Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Considering they are smart enough not to walk on it... Its perfectly ok..
Shavethewhales Posted April 2, 2007 Author Posted April 2, 2007 Eh, the construction company and in-house workers at Bell's arn't the brightest or most professional people. Notice how only one person was working in all those photos - the rest were all too busy sitting around and talking about sick things. That's one of the reasons construction is going so slow. Bell's never has had a knack for hiring good workers.
