  1. Though it is a bummer that we aren’t getting any new rides what we are getting instead is expanding our event catalog. Each park is doing this, ours is limited to others. I will be talking about each one and what it appears to be. All of these events take place during the current operating season, so it will not extend the season. I am worried that the park will only be open weekends as most of these take place only on weekends. Sorry for my writing on a lot of this. -Kids Boo Fest This is a event that has taken place at other Six flags parks the past couple of years. The kids themed Halloween event has popped up for 2023 & will be happening this year. It usually includes trick or treating during the day, Looney tunes character appearances in their Halloween costumes, and Boo Fest exclusive food. -Spring Blooms This new event that occurred this year was not listed in the event schedule. I assume it means it is not happening. My thought is that this spring Six flags worked on our landscaping and they could use it to market an event. -Cinco de mayo Celebration As the name states this a a Cino as mayo themed event. It is only a weekend long and is most likely our scaled down version Viva la festival. I wish we got Viva la festival as many parks received it. But none the less it is something new to be excited about. -Kids Weekends Out of all of these this one I have little to no idea of what the event will be. I believe it will have exclusive food items, early ride time for kids rides and extensive character meetings. -July 4th fest I am assuming that it will be the same as past years. If you are on here you probably know the drill. -Summer Vibes Festival This one I have the most hopes for. Summer Vibes at other parks looks amazing and includes ride overlays, entertainment and a lot of decorations. I have a thought that they could bring back the glow parade, Main Street Electrical Parade Rip-off that they used to have. I loved it when it was there. This to me is my hope to have a somewhat worthy event to take the heat of Holiday in the park. This event at other parks was massive so I have my bar set high for this one. -Slushy Sundays This event is pretty self explanatory. My thought of it is on Sundays, Slushies will be available to purchase throughout the park. I am confused on why this is needed as they already serve Icees on the usual. I wonder if discounts, or if they have exclusive or expanded flavors, open up a stand exclusively for slushies? I could see them use the never used “Funnel Cake Factory” Building. I wouldn’t see them use Go Fresh or whatever it was called as much of the interior has been removed. -Hawaiian Luau This event takes place in Hurricane Harbor. This could be similar to another parks Harbor Fest, which include Hawaiian entertainment and special food offerings. Not to sure -Coaster fest I lied this one I have no idea what this one could possibly be. I want to mention some other events that I sam pretty sure we have had in the past -Spring Break A lot of other parks that didn’t already have this event received it. Not that I need it, I will be on a Spring break trip probably during it. -Mardi Gras‘s A lot of parks that didn’t already have this are receiving it. I want it back! We had it for a couple of years and it was very enjoyable. I am sure our decorations have shipped over to other parks since we had our short time with it.
  2. I was recently at Hurricane Harbor and when I passed by Bonzai Pipelines it appeared to be permanently closed. It was featured on the map located inside of hurricane harbor, which confused me. It is not listed either on the six flags app or it’s website which most likely confirms that it’s defunct. I am not necessarily disappointed in this closing as I was never a big fan of it. I hated being in the closed tube, one time they asked if I wanted a countdown, I was obviously scared, so of course I agreed. I thought the countdown was a nice gesture by the operator, I got in and during the count down i was getting ready. To my surprise on the count of 3 they pulled a Mr. Freeze and Dropped me. I was not ready and when I dropped I hit my head. I didn’t really process what was going on since the water was spraying everywhere in my face. I got out and felt violated. That story is kinda funny now though. I do hope the replace it with a good fit, I could possibly see them put a water coaster in place of it. They have plenty of space to expand into the parking lots and it would seem reasonable to them. It would let them say they got another coaster and it would be popular. I wouldn’t mind the addition. Though that is just my speculation.
  3. If I am correct this season should be able to shape up to be better then the previous seasons The batmobile, which were were supposed to get last year, should return. I believe it came From the closed Batman stunt show in New Jersey. I would assume it would be placed in the concrete Batman pad in the queue, it would be nice if we saw the return of some other features in the queue. Another thing we were meant to get last year, is the new adventure cove, that is replacing the previous hooks lagoon water play structure. I must admit the adventure cove looks rather to be a downgrade from hooks lagoon, adventure cove does not look as elaborate at hooks lagoon. Also it looks like it will no longer have a tipping water bucket. But nonetheless it is great that we get something new, especially that works better with families with little kids, it can help draw in that group of people and can help the park get something even better in the future. Before I get onto catwomans whip I would like to discuss something that was not given enough credit last season. The new lighting! The lighting on the coasters was phenomenal! Including Ninja, It looks really great on the white and black. The biggest addition of all, once again a thing we were meant to get last year, and the year before, Catwomans whip! It is great to have a new thrill ride in the park, it is unfortunate it Replaced Superman, as it easily could have gone into its original location, by the boss, it finally allowed the Illinois part of the park to get some Justice! I am glad that arcade, which we have too much of, is gone! It hopefully will open up more space and it means that the original queue building for Screaming Eagle is finally open again! One thing I noticed in the park that I was a bit upset about last year, was the removal of the freestyle machines. It was nice to get drinks in the park that they don’t even make in other forms!
