Unpopular opinion amongst Efteling Fanboys - It's a 36 year old Vekoma Corkscrew...it should have just been scrapped.
Agreed. I visited Efteling for the first time last year. Almost in the park was so nicely themed and put together... then there was Python.

Sadly, the only thing surprising about this is that it happened on the invert and not Tornado.
Yeah. My first assumption when I saw this was that it was Tornado. I wasn't familiar enough with the names to know it was the invert.

Oh wow, that's horrible. M&D's did feel incredibly sketchy when I visited a few years back but this is still a big shock.
I really hope the poor guests involved somehow manage to come away from it without disastrous consequences.

My visits to Alton Towers seem to consistently end with rainy weather. Which is the perfect time for repeat rides on Nemesis, it really flies when the tracks are wet!

Tayto park is about 25 minutes from my house and is the home of Ireland's only worthwhile roller coaster.

Soarin'. I love the ride music, I find the ride system really cool... but the whole thing bores me to tears.

So has anyone ridden it yet? I really want to know how this turned out.
It's actually really good! Nice pops of airtime and good pacing right the way round. The inversion is more of a marketing line than an actual inversion but it's a fun turn none-the-less.
I for one am very happy to have such a good ride only a short drive away instead of the usual plane journey!

I travelled about 4,500 miles to Texas and when I was at SFOT guess what ride was closed all weekend? *sigh*
On the plus side New Texas Giant opened that weekend and was pretty cool.

I've no idea if the ride is prone to doing this but Vol D'Icare at Parc Asterix stalled mid-way round today on a banked section of track some time around 12:30.
Engineers came out with ladders and strapped the trains to the tracks before evacuating guests off the ride using ladders with ropes to grab on to for support. Guests were (unsurprisingly) taken off on the side that the train was banked towards. I wasn't on time to grab any pictures of the guests coming down, I checked back just as the last one was mid-way down the ladder around 2pm.
The park rescued the train (I guess it got dragged / pushed to a high-point) before closing and all trains were stacked at the station when I was leaving.

Strapping the trains to the rails. You'll have to look closely for the people in there! Angle sucks.
Empty train after all guests exited via the ladders. (I'd have liked to try that!)
Has this happened here before? It wasn't a particularly windy day and I didn't see anything caught in the wheels that would have jammed it up. I guess it was just unlucky. The park did seem to do a very good job getting the people off so kudos.

Having never been to SFOT before I can't say what the original ride was like, all I know is the new one if frickin' fantastic! Pity they didn't open it until 10:30 *mutters*
Great airtime throughout (even if you're welded to the seat by the lapbar), keeps the speed up, love the turns and the Chicken Coop
Going back for more on Sunday. Hopefully Shockwave will be open then too!

For what it's worth, both the Gold Mine and Roller Coaster were running when I visited in March this year. Infusion on the other hand spent the day being sick >_>

Well, if I get to Blackpool this weekend it'll hopefully be something there.
If the plans inevitably fall to pieces it'll have been Dragon's Fury at Chessington, which was just a few hours ago!

It's very do-able and well wroth it if you're willing to get an early train from Amsterdam. I did it a couple of years ago without any problems. Train down and then a local bus to the park.
