  1. In a shocking turn of events... The Joker will not be ready for for the advertised event this weekend! I think we all knew it was going to come to this. At least we have the carous... never mind. "We are gearing up for our final weekend of Coasters, Brews, and BBQ! On August 2 and 3, join us for an extra hour of ride time on The Boss, Pandemonium, and Rookie Racer. Unfortunately, THE JOKER: Carnival of Chaos is not quite ready for guests, but we are glad to have SUPERGIRL Sky Flyer taking its place!"
  2. Apparently Six Flags is banking on Joker being open by end of July/Early August... Coasters, Brews, & BBQ Select Days: July 12 - August 3 Daytime Activities! Head up to Mooseburger Lodge to try our delicious BBQ dishes and specialty brews. After Hours Fun! Each weekend will feature a new set of rides that will be open for an extra hour after the park closes, along with a DJ & fun photo ops! Weekend 4: August 2-3 The Boss Rookie Racer Pandemonium THE JOKER™: Carnival of Chaos (NEW FOR 2024!)
  3. My wife and I went there and had the same experience as you basically. Tip for ya, in the off months there (Winter/early spring) they sometimes do offer a deal that is $35 per person, and you can ride the coaster all day. I think my wife and I did 12 rides before my back said no more... you are old!
  4. Just an FYI from an email from SF about the legacy memberships if you still have one... Our membership goes up a buck per membership a month. Still totally worth it for the parking, admission, and meal plan that we get. Also says Joker CoC (hehe) will open this summer. (probably not gonna happen on time)
  5. If anyone had the training running before the end of 2024 or before the carousel is done... You win the pool! Train was back up and working this weekend. Was running for the freaks unleashed show, and was doing a round trip ride, as the north station is being used for a boo fest black light walkthrough.
  6. From the Six Flags STL Facebook page... The Freaks phoned...they will be arriving early this year. That's right, Fright Fest and Boo Fest will start Saturday, September 16! Mark your calendars...change your plans...be here. #sixflagsstlouis #frightfest #boofest Looks like the part is going to try and maximize the money by starting earlier this year.

  8. My wife and I were there on that miserable Sunday (weather wise). Footing work for the new coaster really has not started. They did have a bulldozer parked on the old go-kart track, so it very well could be getting close to grading, and getting all the markers set for construction. It will be interesting to see what they do with the old go-kart track and dragon swing, and to see if any beautification will happen for the queue, or a reroute of some of the boss walk of shame. Lots of tree limbs down throughout the park. One heck of a storm system came through Saturday evening, and it showed. Park employees were doing a decent job trying to get things back to somewhat normalcy. Front of the park restrooms are still under construction. The area near thunder river entrance and the old Excalibur entrance which used to have some kids/basketball games... now has some electronic claw machines. Primos was open again, and it has a much bigger, enclosed dining area. Another place to get out of the weather when needed. It was a low-sensory Sunday at the park. Its very odd to walk through, and not hear any background music.
  9. Looks like it is a family coaster called rookie racer. "Get ready to start your engines! A new family coaster, Rookie Racer, is headed to Six Flags St. Louis this summer!" https://www.sixflags.com/stlouis/attractions/rookie-racer?fbclid=IwAR2bu--9GeYc25VI4Z5UblwDni5LgIO_ErB5x4v9kKBNnvUA6883ylakm5o
  10. I would guess it is probably just a site error. I used my pass at another park earlier this year, and all of the benefits I had last year were still available this year.

  12. Wait... you met him in a queue for a ride that has been closed for over a month now? If that's the case, I think all of the SF parks are in deep trouble with that guy. No way I am waiting in line for a closed ride!
  13. My wife and I made our first trip of the year on Sunday, and it was a pretty good day overall! Park was not very crowded at all, which made for easy waits on almost all the rides! The only wait was for the Screamin' Eagle, and that looked to be about 30 minutes. The new area and signage around Eagle looks beautiful, but you can not access it from Boomerang. You have to go the back way to get to it. (Giggity) My wife and I are "legacy members" (what the old memberships are now called), but our perks are the same this year, as they have been in the past. We were told that this is the final year of all memberships and dining plans, and beginning next year, you either had to cancel your membership, or move to one of the passes. That was a bummer, as my wife and I liked our membership, and used it at different park all over the country. Flash passes, and skip the line perks can be used from the app this year, and we found them to work quite well. We really didn't have to use any, but we tested them to see how it works. You can also pay a price, and just purchase one skip the line pass through the app. I have a feeling price and availability will depend on how busy the park was. Food wise, we ate at JB's. There is no "upcharge" for the meals on the dining plan, but by default now, the meals come with a bag of chips as a side. I believe fries, mac and cheese, or a salad could be subbed for $2. I chose to do the upgrade to fries with my wings, but they did not charge me for it. Probably an opening day system glitch. I also did see that turkey legs are considered a meal now, with no upcharge. We rode what we wanted to, but we did get stuck on the mine train, and had to get let off at the station before we left. No biggie, as it looked like a safety sensor needed to be reset. We left and went to skyscreamer... What do you know, we sit down, and had to get right back up! A ride opp found some foreign object debris on the ground, and wanted to make sure it was just trash, and not a piece of the ride that had come off. While waiting for the OK from maintenance, we had a chat with a very nice guy. We talked about the boss, and how they finally got parts in last week to do repairs, and they were testing and training for next weekend to be open. We also talked about Mr. Freeze, and it actually broke down during fright fest last year. The parts were ordered, but delayed due to supply chain issues for 6 months! They finally got the parts in last Friday, and were hoping to be able to get to work this week on getting her fixed, weather permitting. Cat Woman's Whip still has quite a bit to go. The loading docks for the ride are sitting next to skystreamer, and they still have quite a bit of concrete, que line, and lanndscaping to do. Once it is done, the guy said it should look really good, but in typical six flags fashion... it will probably not open late spring. Other than that, the park did get some sprucing up over the winter. There is a new pavilion style building near Eagles entrance that looks very nice, and there are some new shade structures built around the palace porch area. They did take down the roof over the palace porch stage, so not sure if it is being removed, or perhaps repaired. At the entrance to the park... Pretty close to the same as always, except the exit is now on the side closest to the restrooms. Guest services looked to have its own dedicated line for entering the park. Not sure why, but thats what it is. Overall, we had a good day, nice people, beautiful weather... and just what we expected as a Sunday at our old park!
  14. This was posted on the SFSTL facebook page a couple days ago. This at least shows what the queue could potentially look like.
  15. When I was at the park on Sunday, I did see that there was a small food stand set up near the palace theater, on the side where you can enter DC comics plaza. The tent they had set up was doing a 6 inch Subway sandwich, a bag of chips, and a drink. You were able to use the dining pass here, as well as get drink refills. You got the option of a turkey or ham sub, assorted chips, and the usual fountain drink options. They included mustard and mayo packet with the bag with the sub in it. It was nice in 2 ways... 1) Was an easy place to get member cup refilled with a drink, and not have to wait a long amount of time. 2) No line at all in the afternoon, so was easy to get something to eat very quickly. I guess this is about as close to the "go fresh" cafe we can have now... Also, got to see the maintenance staff fire up the pumps on Thunder River... Something I had always wanted to see being done, and had an excellent vantage point from Colossus. Very cool to see the wall of water come down the hill after starting the journey at the top loading area!
  16. I did see that there is now a completed refurbished carousel horse in the new building next to the carousel. I will say that the horse looks awesome! I wonder how long it takes to refurbish each one? They have the new horse enclosed in glass, on a spinning pedestal near the entrance to the carousel/Super Girl. Once all are completed... That carousel will look amazing! Hopefully people will treat these well, and they can stay looking sharp for years to come!
  17. The flash pass kiosk at the front of the park was open, and some people were buying. I can see it saving time in line on coasters, but everything else is pretty much a small wait of a couple turns with the capacity limits of the park. Perhaps some people used some of the "rewards points" to get a flash pass for the day? I dunno... We ended up giving a couple our paper skip passes for the flume as we were leaving. We usually try to pay it forward to someone if we don't use them.
  18. So how did the electronic queueing work out? How long did it take to get the notification to head to the queue when you reserved a spot? Once you were in the queue, how long did it take to board? If we end up getting desperate enough to go, I'd like to get a few rides on Screamin' Eagle, maybe a ride on the Boss and/or Batman, and a trip down the flume. But, we don't want to spend the whole time standing in a queue. That's why I'm curious about the reservation system. I can't remember if they let you take your beer in the queues. At CF parks they do not. There was no electronic queueing for rides on my end. We used our 3 "skip the lines" passes (paper), and that worked the same as other years. We just went to the flash pass entrance at the rides, gave our paper passes to the ride op, and got on the next available ride. Only thing that would have been like an electronic queue would be ordering food and drink from the app. Some people actually did have a flash pass for things, and they got on like normal. From everything I see, there is no system to be put in an electronic ride queue like some other bigger parks offer... Unless you count flash pass, which I ain't buying!
  19. We left around 5 and were at the front of the park, so we had no clue...
  20. Good morning all! My wife and I were able to play hooky from work and head to the park yesterday. Park was not really crowded, for obvious reasons, and seemed to flow pretty well... except for a few rides. When we entered the parking area, we showed the preferred parking pass, and they requested to see our reservation form. Nice lady said we did not have to print the parking reservation form anymore, but I don't trust that, and will continue to print it. We parked, and walked to the tent area set up at the front of the parking lot, to the right of the fountains, for the temp check station. Its extremely easy, as you basically just walk through an air conditioned tent. Had to take off sun glasses, and keep the mask on. EASY and fast! Security is so nice now... Just a walk through, with no need to empty pockets or anything like that. Only time they stop you is if the sensors go off on the screens the people look at, then they do a wand search of the person. The new entrance looks great! The new sign/sculpture is beautiful! Employees were stopping people to take pictures (to purchase of course), and everyone looked to be enjoying it! Not having the ticket booths there is just weird, but they put in a small trailer on the side for guest relations. They actually kinda themed the trailer to the looks of the park, which was a nice touch. Entering the park is same as always... Scan pass, look at photo, go in. You do have to remove your mask for a second to verify its you. Rides... If you want a coaster, just be prepared to wait... especially if only 1 train is running. Some coasters were sanitizing as soon as someone would get off, wipe off, then reloading. We saw that on Boomerang and Ninja. The others were ride, sanitize, and watch an empty train roll up a hill. I understand that in the "new normal" this is going to happen, but it is demoralizing watching an empty train. Justice League is closed for the season... that truly sucks! My wife and I always look forward to that ride, as it is nice to be in AC on a hot day, even if waiting for 30 minutes due to lines. Many people were disappointed when they read the sign that it would be closed for the year due to safety precautions. All other rides, minus sky screamer, the train, and mine train were working. People just will have to get used to the fact that most rides are working on half capacity, and must be sanitized after each use. It adds to line time, but what can we do? Food and drink... Well, my wife and I were impressed with the online ordering for all of our needs. We both have the dining pass, and we found it super easy to use. All you do is pick a time you will be at the food place, place your order on the app, apply membership discounts/dining pass options, and then check in when you get to the place. The app tells you your food is being prepared, and will tell you which line to go to once your food is ready. You also have to do this for drink refills, which we found a bit odd, but it did work. We were told not to bring our refillable drink cups, so we didn't. Many people did though, and were able to get refills. I did see that a six flags employee would fill a paper cup with the drink, and you had to pour it in your refillable cup. It seems wasteful, but thats what we do here in Merica The one thing I would say needs to be improved... They need to have dedicated employees that are making/checking mobile food and drink orders. We did see a few times that people would forget to check the tablets with the mobile orders, and they would stack up quick! I know staffing could also be an issue, but something that probably needs to be addressed. Overall though, my wife and I enjoyed the mobile ordering, as it was less we had to interact face to face with people. It also works at First Cone, so remember that tip, as the lines will get huge, especially with social distancing in effect. Shows... No shows right now. We did see some productions rehearsing in front of the Palace theater, which was nice to see that they are still planning on doing shows. They may make all of them outdoor shows if they can not open the indoor areas to the public. Overall, park seemed to be clean, and hand sanitize stations are numerous! We saw all employees wearing six flags masks, and most everyone else following suit with the mask orders. We had a good time, and will be going back on Sunday for round 2 for the year. If you go this year, just remember everything is a work in progress, and we are all learning everyday. I have a feeling they will take stock of the good and bad after todays last preview day, and implement some changes for the official opening tomorrow.
  21. Not a problem, and thanks for the welcome! Next report could be on Sunday if we stop by on our way back from the booming metropolis of Springfield, MO!
  22. Good morning everyone! This is my first post on here, but have been reading for years, and enjoy the news, rumors, and banter that happens between everyone! Figured I would do a trip report as a first post! My wife and I went to HITP on Sunday the 25th. I think the threat of weather kept everyone away for the day, but that didn't stop us! We both have the Diamond Elite Membership, and the premium dining plan, so we try to take advantage of the perks whenever we can. Parking was a breeze today in the preferred lot, and we parked about as close as we could get to the metal detectors without being illegal. Shopping - We decided to go to the main stores at the front of the park and look for some deals at the end of the year. Not really much available for the holidays, but we did get a nice wreath HITP ornament for the low price of $3 with the membership discount. Colossus - Its about time we finally got to ride this thing! We rode it in late March when the park first opened for the season, and it has been down ever since. Not sure what it is, but its just a nice, fun, relaxing ride that has great views of everything! Almost all of the park holiday lights were already on because of the cloudy conditions, so that made for a picturesque ride. The ride operators were friendly and told us they finally got all of the parts and programing done for the continuous ride cycle. He also said that right before the ride was set to open... it was struck by lightning, and it damaged a few circuits. We are just happy its finally open! Lunch - JB's was a pretty popular option for lunch, as it was inside and out of the elements. We decided to try the "Thanksgiving Sandwich" special. It was turkey, gravy, and cranberry sauce on a pretzel bun. It was actually really good, and we paired it with a salad as we thought we would tempt our fate with E. Coli from a theme park! (Didn't happen) We also got some chicken fingers and sidewinder fries. Everything was fresh and hot, and was actually brought out in a very reasonable amount of time! Job well done on this trip! Petting Zoo - Down in the pavilion area there are a couple areas that are tarped off and now have farm animals in them. One of the areas we saw had goats, mini horses, lamas, alpacas, sheep... and I think water buffalo type guy. If you want to feed them, a cup of food was $5, but just petting and looking was free. Another pavilion had the camels, and camel rides available. I was not sure of the price of the rides or the picture, but I know it does cost an extra fee. We had a good time, and the animals looked clean, healthy, and well taken care of. The Majesty Of Christmas - A very well done show! Apparently its the same as last year, but the sound and lighting was done well, and all of the live animals added a nice touch to the story. If you go, its a good show to see to warm up, and get out of the elements. Spinsanity - A staple of our ride times each visit we go. Always a fun flat ride, and we rode it about 3 times consecutively as there was no line. Also, the area around the ride smelled like a fresh cut pine forest because of all of the lighted Christmas trees in the area! The Tinseltones - Another good show at the Empire theater! All 3 girls did a nice job, and the songs and comedy were very nice. My wife even got a bit teary eyed at one song. It was either the song, or I stepped on her foot again. Well worth your time to see it! The Storm - Apparently while we were watching the show, a sever storm blew through the area. That's probably why the show was getting more crowded as the show was going on. The storm probably only lasted about 10 minutes, but there was a bit of wind damage around the park. As we exited the theater, it looked like Panda Express... errr, chop stix got a bit more damage than the demo crews were doing. They were picking up pieces of the roof and siding that had come loose from the storm. The gentlemen who were cleaning were very nice, and asked everyone passing by if the were alright, and if they needed anything! As we were walking up the hill to the mine train... Woooooooooooo (Not Rick Flair), the tornado sirens start going off. I think since the storm passed, nobody really cared and nobody took cover. About 5 minutes after the sirens end, there is finally an announcement over the PA about sever weather in the area. I think this is an issue the park should look into for better communication with the guests. This put the park into storm mode 5, or whatever its called, so everything was shut down for about a half hour. Fire Pits - Since nothing was working, we decided to find a fire pit and do the free Smores kit with our membership. Well, there were no fire pits going, and nobody working any of the Smores stands. I understand that a storm just came through, and fires may have went out... But this was a missed opportunity. The weather turned windy and colder, and would have been perfect for a fire! With everything on weather lockdown, the only thing to do would have been smores, and it could have made a good profit! Of well, will have to try again next time. Pandemonium - Well, I think the weather delay got most people out of the park, so we rode this about 4 times consecutively. Its amazing how different the rides are from which side you are facing on the lift hill. We both had a great time, and the ride ops were all in a good mood. It was at this time we were told the park would be closing early at 6:30. The Train - We decided to do the loop on the train. It would be really nice if they could put up more lights around the park where the train goes. Many areas are dark and bare, and just a bit of holiday lights could make things look so much better. As it was getting windy, wet, and cold, the Tommy G. was having a hard time getting up the hills, so we got the final rides before it was back to the shack for the train. JLBFM - We got to this just as it was re-opening, and got to ride it a couple times consecutively. How can you not like this ride, as its a different ride every time... as not all of the effect work the same way twice! We both still like this ride, and always make a point of riding at least once when we go! American Thunder - As we made our way to the front of the park as it was getting late, we rode American Thunder a couple of times. This ride is much more fun in the dark! It seemed like that section of the park may have had some light issues, so it was extremely dark for the rides. Some of the holiday themed lights seemed to be either off or damaged, so that added to the "spookyness" that only HITP can give! Dinner - We decided to grab dinner before we left, because well, we could and it was included. 1904 classics.. Nope, closed! (On a side note, they are offering soups and chili in bread bowls as a HITP special... when open) Macho Nacho... Nope, closed! Colonnades Grill... Nope, closed! I really think they were just trying to get people out of the park as quickly as possible as it was closing in a half hour. Snack - We were determined to at least get something... SO FIRST CONE IT IS! They have a special peppermint ice cream for HITP, and it was very good. Nothing like a waffle cone as you leave to make me happy. No lines, so we were in and out very quickly! All in all, we had a fun time at the park as we usually do. I think this was out 10th time at SFSTL for the year, and we probably have a few more times to go before 2019 hits. We know what to expect when we come here, so we can be disappointed that some things are not great, but we know that they could be much worse too! We went to SF in Chicago and had a great time, as well as SF in Atlanta, and enjoyed walking that beast of a park! Every park is different, but we enjoy all of the things that make them unique! Here is just a few snapshots from when I remembered to take pics... Happy Holidays Everyone! Nice little tree and welcome to the park Yeah... They looked good, and I am not saying we made some of them at home.. Who am I kidding, we made 2 of the 3 at home! View from the train looking at the Palace Theater DC Comics Plaza in front of Mr. Freeze. Looked good with all of the blue theming in the area More lit up trees in front of the Palace Theater Fireball.. Not working for HITP, but the lights looked nice in an otherwise dark back of the park. The front lit up at night. It does look nice and inviting when the sun goes down.
