Some updates: - Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure has some incredibly dismal reliability (either closed for the entire day or only opening in the late afternoon) and the park does not report its status at the gates, reason being "this is soft opening and it *might* be open later, we don't know either". From my experience, if the river not filled in the morning, it often means that the ride will not be open that day. - According to Bigbear, both Battlestar Galactica rides and Madagascar: A Crate Adventure will be delayed till End of 2010. Also, the previous Sci-Fly show has been removed from the Sci-Fi City zone. - Latest rumours from Screamscape claims that new vehicles for Battlestar Galactica will be arriving soon (both rides will need to undergo extensive test cycles before getting the license back) and that there are even more problems surrounding the Madagascar ride, such as a fire destroying some show scenes, and the flume ride system has too many technical problems and had to be removed even before installation was complete. - As part of a "compensation package" for all these ride breakdowns/closure or any other disappointment, Annual passholders are given 1 free ticket to Resorts World Sentosa's resident circus show Voyage De La Vie. The Annual passes can also be used for some small discounts at certain F&B outlets in the resort. -

They are still performing, just that now the Mel's Dinette's show sometimes perform there. No pics for Madagascar queue.. It's pretty much the same thing except the "Coming Soon" canvas positioning changed slightly.. I took a peek under the covers and all I saw were ladders and some toolboxes, and also a general layout of the queue area: it is one insane maze that seemed longer than Revenge of the Mummy's queue.. and there seems to be an area where there's stairs/ramp. -

*removed my earlier post since I revisited park yesterday and well, some new things to report: - The scaffolding at Battlestar Galactica: CYLON's track has finally been removed. According to the park crew, they are doing test cycles at night. They did not state what the test cycles are for this time (last time it was to "investigate the problem") but the ride needs to go through some 6000++ cycles before it can reopen: - The canvas covering Madagascar: A Crate Adventure queue area has "moved in", revealing the some first parts of the queue area. More crew members are at that area now (for training?), although the ride isn't expected to open until September. - Revenge of The Mummy: Changes made to the ride speed for the slow segment, although the audio goes out of sync more often now. Video projections were glitchy, some appearing with a strange pink/purple overlay, or even not working at all (yep, even Imhotep's sand face, so the treasure hall fell silent). - The stage at Sci-Fi City has been set up with props and stuff, for a show (according to Bigbear) that's called "On Location with SciFly": - A new show called "Mel's Dinettes' Show" is now being performed outside Mel's Diners. These ladies sang "Candyman" - Changes made to MONSTER ROCK! show (new costumes for some etc) including a very strange new look for Frankenstein. They also changed how the signage appears at the Pantages Hollywood Theatre (shifted the LIVE ROCK MUSICAL to the centre so that showtimes can be seen at both sides): - For July, they're making the fireworks show (Lake Hollywood Spectacular) a regular for Friday and Saturday nights at 10pm. Once again, day passholders can stay at the Hollywood zone till then. Otherwise, one can purchase a S$5 "After Hours" pass to enter ONLY Hollywood zone. Annual passholders enter for free. For those wondering "What the hell is anyone going to do from 7pm to 10pm", well - you can pay S$3 to watch movies at the Pantages Theatre. Details here. -

I was at the park last week and took photos of the scaffolding. It's mainly at the areas leading to the vertical loop and under the loop. Local papers from Singapore reports that BSG may only reopen next year, according to BoA Merrill Lynch. -
Like what most of us are saying here: I feel that there's a lot of nice detail put into WWoHP that wouldn't make any sense to non-fans of the HP universe. E.g: All the displays with the "magic" quill, Ollivanders', Quidditch things and Gilderoy Lockhart items, they are all cool, but only made sense to me because I read the books. If I am were to bring someone new to the series to WWoHP, I'll end up spending the whole day explaining everything to them.

Update on Battlestar Galactica from ThemeParkNewsDirect: Whether this has to do with the CYLON track itself or solving drainage issues at various spots of BSG (as previously reported), I don't know. -

Yeah, that part is cool! He also says "WITHOUT THIS BOOK YOU WILL NEVER STOP ME!" before appearing at the "false-unload" scene. His appearance is so sudden, it's quite funny to see all those first-time riders getting the shock. There's some dialogue at the end of the ride (replacing Rick's video) that actually rotates from a set of lines. So far, after taking the ride 30-odd times, I've heard 4 variations. I have an almost complete script and list of changes (from the orlando version) for the RoTM in Singapore. Since linking to my webpage is not allowed, drop me a PM if you wish to know more. -

Well, some of the scenes are identical, the physical track is identical, but the overall story is different. There's no Rick O'Connell or Medjai at all. Riders face Imhotep alone, with The Book of The Living as the only weapon. If they wanted it to be based off The Dragon Emperor, they would need to have an Ancient China zone instead of Ancient Egypt, right? -

I didn't get to watch (I was hoping just see it wet!) because it was left dry the entire day. I asked the crew again in the afternoon and they just said "they are fixing something that's in the water" instead of the usual "The dinosaurs ran away so we're trying to catch them". Yes, Resorts World announced that BSG is doing test runs when the park closes, although they didn't give any other details. According to Bigbear's previous update, the Human vehicle is back in one piece and had weight dummies on it. The Cylon is still in pieces. -

I must've been very lucky because my three rides on JPRA didn't have any unload problems.. Anyway when I was visiting on 27/04, I was one of the first few people who visited the park. I went straight to JPRA and saw 3-4 JPRA crew girls "guarding" the entrance to the ride. They said the ride will not be open at the moment but "may open" later. I walked towards the splashdown to see if anything is happening.. here's what I saw: I managed to peek into the loading/unloading area and all I saw were the crew sweeping up the queue area, nothing seems to be done at the unloading ramp/conveyor belt though. -

Something seems to be going on at the other side too (near Ancient Egypt zone). The fence is covered up now. Does anyone know what is actually going on with Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure? I was at the park today and while waiting to ride... The crew started sending off empty rafts, a lot of people started gathering at the controls station and viola~~ "Due to technical problems, this attraction will stop ..." -

I found this on Youtube.. Could this be the "technical problem" that happens to Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure sometimes?
