Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

Two things. One, does any one know whats going on with the Amphitheater? On may 13, the HP fan club posted a pic of it boarded up on their fb page. I also noticed that they have no shows planned there for this summer, the character quiz show that used to be there is now listed as strolling in the park. Thats a decent sized area of land inside that could be used much better. Maybe a sky screamer type of ride? The only thing is it would look odd to have that many towers in one section of the park. A nice flat ride would be nice for that area of the park and would overall be a great addition. Also I have seen pics that the park is putting up fencing around the old park view golf course. Maybe this hints that the park is getting ready to develop the land? -

Has work started on the new ride yet? Haven't heard much about it since it seems like a pretty disappointing ride... -

Speaking of the downtown area, I thought there were projects planned to improve it and to do something with the old site of the chocolate factory. Is anything in the process of happening? Theres so much potential there for shops and restaurants. Even the old monorail stop is there, so maybe in the future people can be able to leave the park through that and head to town for lunch/dinner then go back to the park. -

The clue also says: Blasting off to new heights But thats not the end of this flight. -You have to highlight it to read it well. Maybe if they do go with an ultra tower, it is going to somehow be themed to a plane or something. -

On the Intamin Website, the 4 tower ride is 86.22 x 86.22 feet (including the walls for the simulator). That model could just manage to fit in the area where the kiddie rides are in Kissing Tower Hill. By making a 3 tower ride, it would be even smaller, with more room for a themed queue and maybe even a pre-show. But it does probably cost a lot! -

You can find them on the park's facebook page or Instagram. -

Also, in the video. The 3 is made of Hershey's Kisses, the 2 is made of reese's and the 1 is made of Hershey bars. The 3,2,1 could represent 3 towers with each candy being the minimum height requirement for each tower. -

Clue #3: An attraction like this has never been done... Choose your path, theres 3 ways to fun. -Its definitely an ultra tower. -

Skyrush = first winged outer seats Laff Track = first spinning indoor glow coaster in the U.S. Storm Runner = first launching coaster w/ inversions and a top hat Lightning racer= first dueling / racing wooden coaster I am not 100% sure about Lightning racer and storm runner, but the others are right I think. -

No installations yet. But Hershey seems to always like to do new and unique things, but as you said it seems a bit complex for the park. Also I went on the raven sun website and on the bottom, Hersheypark is listed as one of their big/main clients which may seem to hint they are ordering another big attraction from them. -

How far apart were the markings? Is it possible they are close enough for one tower or are they far enough apart for 4 separate towers? Cause if there close, it could hint a Ultra Tower or something like Falcons Fury, but if not than it might be multiple drop towers. -

I was looking around on Intamin's Website. Its a stretch, but maybe the multiple towers might represent an Ultra Tower. The chocolate covers all sides because its inclosed when screens, and it could defiantly be a thrilling ride with a high capacity. It can also run during thunder storms which is an added bonus cause most of the park closes during storms. -

-Theres also only 3 more clues! Because when I visit the hersheypark.com / 2017 website and scroll up, theres a 12345 and the 1 and 2 are purple while the 3,4,5 are still blue. -Theres also markings labeled TB3 at the area where convoy is, TB3 could be tower base 3, meaning there may be 3 towers in a triangular formation...(I saw this on facebook in the comments, someone posted the picture in the comments for clue 2 if you want to see it) -

NEW CLUE: Our Exciting New Thrill Will Live High Upon a Hill -In the background, it shows the kissing tower, but it also shows the WildCat. Now the wild cat stands on top of a smaller hill giving it a larger appearance. The first clue showed the ferris wheel in the back hinting that something could... be in MidWay America. Theres much more room in Midway America to put a drop tower than Kissing Tower Hill. But Hershey may be able to fit a coaster into Kissing Tower Hill. -

It will probably be a rollercoaster. Most likely this new attraction will be going in the kissing tower hill area, and it does not make much sense to put a drop tower right next to the kissing tower, I think that would look a bit odd. Its probably going to be a coaster because they can remove those kiddie rides and flying falcons have some of the coaster there, than run the track over to where the twin turnpikes are and by the coal cracker and even make use of the empty land behind the park that was opened up from the road realignment. The 1 in the announcement might be hinting a dive coaster or something similar. Any thoughts?
