How good or bad are the crowds, for April 21st?
Eh, not as bad as the weekend. Still crowded because ALL of Atlanta goes to SFOG, instead of a better park like Carowinds.
All the B&Ms will be crowded with people. Goliath will assign you to a row, you can't even pick (for "efficiency"). Best bet would be Fast Pass, as the rides often have such long lines that shelling out $$ is the only way.

Can someone explain to me what the April Fools angle on this is? Not much information is given and we already know RMC mean streak is coming some time probably in the next two years, so what out of this video is a joke/misleading?
We have... 6 pages and counting of arguing and discussion over two words. Two words. And since they released this on April Fools there's the fact that we don't even know if those two words even matter, so this arguing is more than likely useless and they're in their offices laughing their a$$es off as all good pranksters should do on April Fools Day.
This sums it up really well. Cedar Point's marketing team really didn't have much work to do for the RMC Mean Streak, they just put one video out and the ride has been promoting itself (and has been since Sep 18.)
On a side note, Jason McClure posted some park pictures on Twitter.

I was obsessively looking at Cedar Point pictures and came across the parcel record for Cedar Point on the Erie County auditor website.

Will we ever see a "like" button on these forums? Lol. Posts like this would be well deserving.
We've thought about it. And I think having a LIKE Button would replace some actual discussion and we like the forums to be as active as possible.
True, as people would take the shortcut and just click like instead of contributing to the discussion.

I didn't mean to imply that they "need" to make an announcement or have to acknowledge the project, I'm just curious to see what they will do. Will there be construction walls around the attraction with some kind of teasers? Will they launch some kind of social media campaign with a promo site leading up to an announcement? Will they train the Dippin Dots guy to respond to questions with fake project details? It'll just be interesting to see how they handle a gigantic attraction under construction that's visible to the park throughout most of the operating season.
My comment wasn't necessarily directed at you, or anyone in particular. It was just something that seemed to continue to come up as we get closer to opening day. It will be interesting to see what they do throughout the season. I'm guessing coasterbill is right and they'll just leave the train gates down and leave it at that, at least for a while.
Again, I totally understand and respect that the park has every right to ask us not to post or take photos and I'm not trippin over that whatsoever, just playing devil's advocate for sake of discussion.And I appreciate that! I was genuinely curious to hear some other thoughts and the discussion is a nice departure from boats and complaining about not being able to post pictures.

Carowinds Discussion Thread
in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!

I went to Carowinds for the first time yesterday. I had a good time, despite slow ops. The Winterfest theming was beautiful, although it was jarring jumping straight into Christmas mode one day after thanksgiving, lol.
Here's what I rode:
Fury 325 x2
Copperhead Strike x1
Afterburn x1
Wilderness Run x1
Nighthawk x1
Fury, Afterburn, and Nighthawk were all running one train. Nighthawk in particular had very sluggish dispatches, so we waited about an hour in line for that. Copperhead Strike was running two trains and operations there were quite fast. Carolina Cyclone was down the whole time, and Copperhead Strike went down at about 7, so I only got to ride it once.
Fury was amazing, tons of airtime. All in all, a super fun ride. Hot take: Goliath at SFOG is still a better B&M hyper
A pretty good first visit with two rides on one of the best rollercoasters in the world. Can't wait to go back soon!
