Like I posted earlier, it's not really the park that is marketing this as a coaster. Larson International actually considers this ride a compact coaster. So, the park knows it's not really a coaster, but if the manufacturer says it is one, then hey, it is. I completely agree with you guys though...it's not a coaster, it's far from it. If we weren't enthusiasts and we saw this ride not knowing what it truly was, we would probably think it's a roller coaster. I mean, it does go upside-down and runs on a track! Regardless, we will find out all the juicy details in just a few more days. I wonder if the park will release an update on Zumanjaro when they send the press release out on Thursday for the new additions. Hopefully it won't be down for the remainder of the season, but then again, who knows.

A few things I would like to share. First thing is that it's not Six Flags who decided to call Dragon Loop a roller coaster. Larson International actually states it's a coaster. As for the name Dragon Loop. It honestly sounds like something Cedar Fair would come up with. I think Six Flags could have been a tad bit more creative in regards to the name. I noticed some people are complaining that this is what we are getting and that it is nothing more than a carnival ride. Yes, you are right, it is based off of a carnival ride, but this park version eliminates the need for all those wires and the ghettoness that comes with the standard Fire Ball that you see in carnivals. Personally, I never been on a Fire Ball/Ring of Fire just because of how unsafe and unsecured they look. I will definitely give Dragon Loop a ride just due to the fact that it will no longer look like something you see at a fair. This will probably fit in perfectly in the Adventure Alley section of the park. Seeing that you have the bumper cars and the scrambler, both of which can be considered carnival rides, adding Dragon Loop here would make logical sense. Namtab will probably be for the full season at the park. How it was worded, it seems as if will stick around for the whole 2015 season. Last but not least, I'm really curious to see the new details in regards to the updated Fright Fest for next season. What on earth do they possibly have in mind? For some reason I think we may be seeing Hurricane Harbor, or it's parking lot, being used for this upgrade. Could be totally wrong, but who knows at this point in time.

True. But not fully true. When I was on a "hard-hat" tour for Green Lantern they told us on their plans for the change. Intamin was there during the off-season and did test runs with four trains (using both sides of the station) and using three trains (with only using one side of the station). During this time, they realized that the theoretical hourly capacity was less running four trains with both sides of the station compared to three trains and only using the one side. Intamin gave the park a choice on whether or not to try the new method and the park accepted it. So, running the three trains isn't bad operations, but just overall a way to increase the amount of riders it can take in an hour. Yoshi was right though, but just not the REAL reason why Ka is the way it is. They also have the option to add the fourth train on at any point in time, on very slow days you may see it, but currently it's just used as a backup if one of the other three go down.

If you were a home owner who was affected by Sandy and has yet to receive aid or help from the government and you see this news, what would you think? I mean, granted, it is just for cleanup purposes, but it just bugs me that other people/businesses can use this money seeing that it is designated strictly for Sandy aid. The official cause of the fire will be announced at a press conference at 2PM. So hopefully we will find out the EXACT cause of the fire then. EDIT: The cause of the fire was apparently due to Superstorm Sandy. It caused unforeseen electrical issues that shorted out and sparked the fire. Therefore, I'll retract my statement about the money being used from Sandy Aid. Sandy caused this fire in reality, so ya, I don't see any problem using some money for cleanup efforts.

Apparently the fire has been ruled accidental, but is still currently unconfirmed by officials. I also read somewhere that the fire was believed to have been started in an electrical box under Kohrs. One thing I disagree with is how Christie is using relief money from Superstorm Sandy to clean up the debris removal. Why on earth would he use money desiginated for Sandy relief on an unrelated disaster? Parts of the shore, especially Ortley Beach (which is pretty much right next to Seaside Heights) are still devastated and have yet to bounce back. It is totally unfair in my opinion...I mean, they want the fire to be cleaned up and rebuilt by Memorial Day (which is pushing it I believe) but they should not be using money to clean up something that was completely unrelated from Sandy.

Went down to check out the damage from the fire today. All I can say is it's a disaster. Everything looks out of place. It is really such a shame. It was still smoldering pretty damn good when I was there. Pt. Pleasant and Seaside Fire Companies were applying a decent amount of water in the vicinity of Funtown Pier. One of the reporters stated that they had a pretty good flare up there earlier this morning. It is going to take a very long time in my opinion to recover from this.

I thought so to! Maybe because the winds pushed the flames and embers in such a fashion that they just got really really lucky? Still, the fact that they are directly next to Kohrs and didn't get destroyed is a miracle. You see all the destruction from the aerial views and there is Sawmill still standing, looking like it was just built, hardly touched. And no, they have not determined the cause of the fire yet. Some news agencies think arson, some think accidental, who really knows at this point in time. All that matters is nobody suffered serious injuries from the fire and that the main focus now is to once again, Restore the Shore.

No. I'm seriously f**king sick of people telling me this. People that are not from the area have no f**king clue what "Seaside Park" is. They know the area as Seaside Heights. That's like me telling people I live in Dr. Phillips. Do you know what that is? No. Of course you don't. But you're heard of Orlando, right? We have busted our A$$ bringing you all as up-to-date coverage on this as possible and you're giving us crap over a name? When the fire ACTUALLY WAS IN SEASIDE HEIGHTS!!! I could understand your petty argument if the fire never touched Seaside Heights, but as you just said yourself, 35 businesses were destroyed. Why don't you focus on how to help those people out instead of bitching at us over the title of our thread? The title will remain Seaside Heights and if you don't like it, don't read our forums. The fire literally started within feet of the establishment and it appears that they only suffered minor damage.

Fire suppression systems really wouldn't help in this type of situation. I'm not sure how many, if any, buildings had them, but the fire was coming from both the bottom of the boardwalk and through the roof. The tar on many of the roofs also was more fuel for the fire. It just is a devastating situation. Side note: Can a mod change the topic name? The fire actually was both in Seaside Park (originated) then spread to Seaside Heights. I'm sure some people on here will think Casino Pier got damaged as that is the main attraction in Seaside Heights. Just like I said earlier it's funny that whenever a "major" new ride is going to be built parking goes up. It's like Jackson says "We will approve the addition only if you raise your parking a few more dollars". It is REALLY outrageous anymore. At least fix the lot up and bring back the trams lol. I also think Rolling Thunder will be demolished after the season has ended. Only reason I think this is due to how it interacts with El Toro. They may be removing the trains from the coaster shed and cleaning up the area, but physical ride removal, I don't see happening. I'd be shocked if they do/did start though. Hopefully they will post pictures on their Facebook page showing the demolition.

Yep. Log Flume does close around Labor Day. I think the main reason is because they don't have the necessary staff needed to run the ride that late in the season as it takes at least six people to run it. Then again I thought they closed it around that time because of the Terror Trail that is set up back there and they need to kill the lights on the ride to keep it dark. I could be totally wrong, but I'm sure it's one of the two haha.

I am going to miss Rolling Thunder just due to the face I use to operate it when I worked for the park. Coaster was also a classic. The way it worked and the fundamentals of the ride are quite unique and there truly isn't many left of RT's breed. It was a great ride when it wanted to be. It had it's days. Most of the time it really wasn't the track to blame for the bumpiness of the ride, but rather the old school PTC trains. RIP Coaster.

The land IS NOT owned by Six Flags. This proposal, along with the designs created, is just something the state and the township is illustrating to show how successful a "resort" in the area will be. The designs are obviously not what will be built, if it is ever built, but just a "commercial" with concept drawings to try and get potential investors interested so this project could go forward. Will it ever happen? Probably not. They have tried to do this once before and it failed do to the economy. Maybe with the proposed designs and explaining how it could be a win-win for everybody, "some" interest will be created. The state and township are just pushing for this because they know it will create some money in their pockets. This is also something COMPLETELY different then Jackson Twenty-One which of course got the townships approval but has YET to move forth. I highly doubt this project will ever see the light of day either. My opinion, Jackson is just trying to figure out more ways for them to make money from the park. Seeing they can't raise the cost of parking anymore at Great Adventure (yep, they are the reason why parking is so extreme) they are just trying to find any other way to fill their pockets.

You sure you weren't just in the "staging area" of the launch? That is how they use to run the ride during four train operation. They would send both trains out of the station, the first train would launch, then the second train would park itself on the launch waiting for the block to clear before launching.

The $8 option means that you can move your items from location to location so that you can carry all of your articles once you are done riding. For instance, you store your items at El Toro, ride, pick up your items, then head to Nitro, store your items there, ride, then pick up your items. This option is only if you don't feel like carrying everything through the day. The $13 option pretty much is a stationary locker and you have to go to one of the two locations whenever you need something. If you don't have a lot to carry, and are just worried about loosing something while you are riding, you are better off going with the $8 option.

As somebody already stated, it really does depends on your actual dimensions. I use to be close to 300 pounds and somehow I still managed to ride. They needed to help me put the restraint down but I still never had a problem. If you don't think you are going to fit, just make sure you try out the test seat before you enter the ride. As long as the green light comes on you are good to go...

There are office buildings and storage warehouses directly behind where Freefall use to be. They do however have some room to put a few nice things over in that section.

Over six years later...Guess it's time for my very first post. Bizarro isn't going to go anywhere. Especially not in the near future. If it was going to be removed you would by now definitely see survey markers along with some signs on construction. The park also would have announced the closure by now especially seeing they have done that with every other coaster that was removed or remodeled in the chain. The ONLY reason that Bizarro don't get busy isn't because the ride is unpopular it's because it is in a VERY poor section of the park. You have nothing back there and the foot traffic compared to Nitro, Superman, Ka, etc. is quite light. Remember when Medusa/Bizarro didn't open until 12 or 1 a few years ago? That's because it took people forever to get to that section of the park...it's hidden. They also won't announce anything for 2014 tomorrow. It's unlike the chain to do something like that...plus a huge expansion probably won't happen for at least a few more years. Regarding Toro. That is just the sand that you are feeling during the ride. If it's been dry and hasn't rained lately, the sand will kick up quite a bit. It's not wood chips or anything along those lines...just sand. Finally, for next year...everything that has been rumored on here...from what I been hearing is pretty much true. -Entertainment package is a very strong possibility although I really haven't heard much about it. -The safari redo is pretty much 100% accurate. It's going to be like Animal Kingdoms tour minus the heavy theme. Where this will take place is unknown. For all we know, they can build a separate parking lot where the safari entrance is and just have that set up as a separate up-charge attraction. I don't think it will interlock in any way/shape/form with the theme park. Plus there is also rumors of a zip-line that may be placed somewhere in the safari as well. AND WE ALL KNOW why they are doing this. Insurance costs are way too high to allow cars through it anymore. It's not really about the GP feeding the animals and such, but primarily do to the amount their insurance company had to shovel out from damage done to cars...It's just a safer cost effective way to have guided tours then have cars go through. Why do you think they been pushing those VIP Safari Bus Tours the past few years? -ProSlide will also be making an appearance at Hurricane Harbor. With the screw up by Polin...they need something to make the park unique. I also HIGHLY doubt that a drop tower will be built on the side of Kingda Ka. I don't think the state will allow anything near the motor room to be built, yet alone having an attraction that close to the cable. It could be another disaster just waiting to happen.
