I've been saying this for years. They get rid of good mazes and bring in terrible ones. Or demote good mazes to scare zones, like the clown one. I was sad to see the asylum is now gone. Never been a fan of hellside farm and that's sticking around. Zombie high and London terror are also not that great. I will say I actually enjoy humane habitat though. And I am glad they made chateau a permanent maze because I've always enjoyed that one. But, most of the haunt decisions I question. I will be going this Friday and I heard the new one is lame now too. I shall she for myself.

Is Renegade affected by this too? I just arrived here to see the wild thing is also closed. I have never seen the wild thing closed ever. I'm a little sad.

I saw it. I found it weird that vf didn't post anything on social media about it airing. I'm glad I have my dvr set to record xtreme Waterparks whenever it's on it I would have missed it.

I see the valleyfair/soak city xtreme Waterparks aired on Sunday, watching it as I type this. I think it's weird valleyfair didn't say anything on social media about it. Maybe they did and I didn't see.

My favorite dining plan is the food truck. Their tacos are amazing. I got that almost every time I went to the waterpark last year. Also the bbq sandwich with the coleslaw on it by the looping starship was pretty good.

Really? I rode it today and thought they were kinda harsh on the legs, but not bad enough to give bruises. Where did you get the other two since it only touches in two places on the legs? Granted, I am more petite so bars usually give me less problems. I'm pretty small too and I felt like that was part of the problem. Every time I went over a hill I would come out of my seat and hit the bars. My bruise was on my upper thigh and then where my pelvic bone sticks out. So basically where it was making contact with my thighs and then where it made contact in my abdomen, but I'm skinny so my bone sticks out further. I was sitting in the very back seat so that might be part of the problem.

I rode the high roller yesterday and the new train is nice. However, the restraints put four huge bruises on my thighs!! I do remember thinking my thighs hurt whenever it went over the bunny hills. I don't think I'll be riding that much this year.

I saw the new valleyfair commercial today and I saw me in the front seat of the renegade! I've finally made it as a rollercoaster model.

Just left preview day. The weather couldn't have been better! There was way more people there than I thought there'd be. I hope they do this every year since all the schools are there opening day now. I like having a more laid back day. So excited for this season!! Wahooooo

Did anyone here do the ride photo shoots back in August? I did the renegade and the swing and they told us some photos would be on social media in a few months. They never posted any photos or videos, and nothing updated at valleyfair.com (it's still the same photos of the rides that it's been for awhile). Has anyone heard what they did with those photos/video and if we will ever see them?? Sue

I just has to tell you guys that I went on the Rock Bottom Plunge at MOA today for the first time. Well, I must have been so excited to go on it because I forgot to zip the pocket on my coat and my phone fell out while on the loop!! The maintenance guy retrieved it for me. Just one small crack in the corner of my screen that you can barely see. The survivor case for iPhone is worth the money. Lol

Opening Day next year is Friday, May 13th according to the 2016 announcement page on the park website. 193 days to go. Damn, it's a Friday again. Booo.

I was at the park on Halloween and on closing day, and had a great time! I met up with Renegade Mike, and his grand total for the season was 1,924 rides on Renegade, which is pretty darn impressive. I think I also saw Captain Unknown over the weekend at Power Tower, but I can't be sure. On Halloween, we got Fast Lane passes because of the season pass renewal deal, and really enjoyed that system, but the operators need to watch how many people they are letting into the station. There was a three train wait for any row on Renegade in the station at some times, and that should never happen. I couldn't walk from the Fast Lane entrance to the other rows because there were too many people in the station (This did result in a front seat ride, so this problem worked in my favor, I guess). Also, this Halloween was the first time I've ever been to a Haunt event at night. I love the lighting, the fog, the insane night rides, everything was awesome. I got scared three times, which means that the Haunt crew was really good because I avoided all scare zones other than the Trail's End, and I only went through there because there was no other way to get to Renegade. I was scared once by a guy with a chainsaw over by Mad Mouse, and then twice by the guy with sparks on his hands and feet (He slid towards us once, and then he hit a trash can when we walked past him and I jumped). Another thing I thought was pretty cool, The Chateau tour. I was pretty impressed with all of the stuff they had in there, and I couldn't imagine being in there at night. Closing day was fantastic. There was almost no one there and I got a bunch of rides on Renegade (Most of which occured at night!). This weekend, I was really wondering about why people wouldn't want to renew their passes next year. Yes, they haven't been adding what we wish they would, but the fact is that it is still a good park that has a lot of fun rides! I know that I miss the park already, and really can't imagine what it would be like without the ability to go to the park all year. Well, today is the last day to get the season pass for the lowest price, so if you don't have one yet, get it tonight! Until then, I will await opening day 2016. Does anyone know what day that is, or has the park not released this yet? I also ran into renegade mike! I rode a few times with him. I don't know how he can ride the renegade that many times, my brain feels like it's sloshing around in my head after like 4-5 times. He is dedicated though, I'll give him that. Mike actually said opening day is 194 days from now or may 14th. I'm assuming he knows lol. I hope he is right, I don't like the Friday opening days because of the schools that are there, it gets too busy. I will be renewing my pass. I love the new water park expansion so that will keep me entertained (at least for 1 more season).

Had an awesome closing day yesterday. I was able to get every ride in (multiple times) within a few hours. This was, by far, the warmest closing day I can ever remember. Usually I'm bundled up and still freezing. This year I met a lot of other Valleyfair fanatics thanks to the commercial shoot in August. It was a good year. 194 days to go until the next.

I always wonder why they choose to get rid of some mazes. I always think Hellside Farm is lame and the Clown one was awesome. Yet they demoted the clown one to a "scare zone" and hellside farm is still around. One time when I was walking in a few years ago they gave me a free fast pass to review their mazes ( they wanted me to rank them). I remember clearly saying the clown one was my absolute favorite and my last favorite was hellside farm. The next year they removed the clown one!! Apparently I was the only one who felt that way? Oh well.

I checked the list of all the Xtreme Waterparks episodes that aired recently on the Travel Channel website, and none of the episode descriptions mention or hinted at Valleyfair's waterslides. Maybe it's not showing until next summer (or whenever the next season of the show starts)? I know, I taped them all as soon as they announced it on twitter (and watched them all in disappointment). I figured it might be airing next summer but they played one from the east coast that just opened up in May 2015 (so obviously it doesn't take that long from filming to airing), so I figured VF's would be on there. Weird. I wonder if they decided not to air it as I asked vf several times and have seen other people ask on twitter and they just ignore it and never answer.

I asked this before and I don't think anyone answered. When is the Xtreme waterparks airing witht he blue slides? They announced it in May and then never mentioned it again on twitter or facebook. Is that even happening any more? I thought they filmed it in June.

Just got back from the haunt. You guys are crazy, I thought pretty much every maze was good this year. Maybe I was expecting less because of the reviews on here so I had low expectations. Whatever it was I had a really fun time. I could tell they were low on staff for the mazes but the attention to details with the props makes up for it. I was not expecting much with the human(e) experiment, but I really liked it. I did not make it to mangler asylum, but maybe next Friday. The lines were weirdly short for everything. also, was sad the food truck is no longer available on the dining plan??? Not sure why that is, the soup and sandwich sounded good! Plus got to ride the renegade tonight with renegade Mike and Matt the PR guy (bonus). It was a good night.

Yup, that's what I said! Tried to sign up when I got the email but I didn't have my card on me and they wanted my season pass holder number. So, today I finally remembered to grab it before work and I log on to sign up and it says it's sold out. I feel like it should be for all season pass holders, not just the ones who happen to sign up before it's sold out.

Sort of annoyed that the season passholder open house is sold out. boo

Anyone else get the season pass holder appreciation email? Is anyone going to go? I was going to sign up but I don't have my pass with me to reserve a spot. Will have to do that later on.
