I am a first time user and poster to the site, I am hoping someone can give me a few pointers and also answer a few questions.
My wife and I are travelling to California in October for her 30th birthday, we are both big rollercoaster fans and are wanting to plan a trip to SFMM. I have checked our itinerary and the only day we can do it is on Monday 12th October (Columbus Day, I believe). I know the park is only open 10:30 - 18:00 and we want to maximise our time as we only have the 1 day, so here are my questions.
1. How busy is it likely to be on the day we are going, has anyone any experience of past Columbus Days?
2. Should we invest in the Fast Passes, if so which one would you recommend?
3. Are most rides open at this time of year or do they tend to have rides closed for maintenance in the quieter season?
4. The website says it opens at 10:30, is that ride open time or park open time i.e. can you get there and walk around prior to the rides officially opening?
5. Is the valet parking worth paying the extra for or would you just use normal parking?
Also if there are any other hints and tips you can provide for us, that would be really appreciated.
I am going to start reading through this thread to see if I can find any of the answers, however there is a lot to read through for a first time visitor, so thought I would get it all in a post.
