  1. Glad to see Six Flags getting to work already, bringing back the Fright Fest most of us remember. The announcement is being received well already, too, hopefully they do not disappoint. I am also surprised they have plans to keep the park open past the normal 10PM (even if it is only 1 hour later--it's a start!). That brings about some excitement, of course, now that I have experienced CP late-hours on multiple occasions.
  2. Contrary to the held belief, Boomerang is actually operating again!
  3. Also, I don't know if anybody else has already reported on this or not yet, but Viper's camera has been moved. It is no longer after the corkscrews, but directly before the tunnel. In fact, the camera is mounted on the concrete of the tunnel entrance. Yeah, Viper's camera was moved because people were able to interfere with the process. By this, I mean people were intentionally making it "go off" or made it take pictures early or after it took pictures of riders. This was possible by putting an object or their hand in front of the sensor, setting it off, as it was easily accessible. As a result, it meant no pictures for those who just got off the ride or it did not take pictures correctly (if done before). Personally, I would be thrilled if they got rid of it and replaced it with a Screaming Swing or a Giant Frisbee. Although they have been known to have their fair share of mechanical issues at some parks, the rides are a lot more fun (at least, I think they are). I agree, and out of those two, I'd prefer a Giant Frisbee. With that being said though, Screamin' Swings are just as fun (from experience on the SkyHawk at CP & Screamin' Swing at Knott's Berry Farm) and I would not mind one of these.
  4. Just wanted to let others know that the ROS has operated a few times now. I visited the park this past Saturday, the 13th, and was able to go on the ROS multiple times. In fact, it was open the entire time I was there. Now as for rain, the problem was apparent as it did shut down, temporarily, for about 5-10 minutes due to a light shower that passed by (practically a mist) while other attractions continued operating normally.
  5. Yeah that's true. Early entry, yes (staying at the park) And I'll keep all of that in mind coasterkid You have a few options. .. Have fun at Cedar Point! Not going to quote your entire post but many thanks for this write up, just what I needed. Thank you as well, should be fun!

  7. We went last Memorial Day Friday, Saurday and Sunday and it was pretty busy. Thursday crowds will be manageable probably. Friday a little busier, Saturday don't be shocked to see hour+ waits for Valravn, Millennium Force, Dragster and Maverick (and of course the customary 90 minute waits for Gatekeeper and Raptor in the morning). Still not awful if you don't mind a little waiting. Thank you! I haven't been before, do you have any tips on what to ride first stuff like that? And of course waiting isn't too much of a problem but I saw they have fastlane passes, so I could look into that too.
  8. Can anyone give me some insight on how lines will be looking this week? Going Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
  9. They are horrible. Beat the crap out of your back Ok thanks! I know to stay away from them. Yeah that would be a good idea. Tried the identical "Caribbean Corkscrew" at Adventure Island in Tampa, FL...it was as described above. Not sure how KrakenRACER with a similar slide design would be as a mat slide, but when I tried Tampa's version of the OctopusRACER "Riptide," it was not a bad experience. I assume the same will hold for the new slides.
  10. Well with that ^, you can also take this for what you will: Although that is probably unlikely. And ocd kicking in: our ---> are* Our lips are sealed*
  11. I liked FrightFest. It was nice for a change, but it came with its cons. The Fright Night Field Trip was always so popular and always had a long line/wait. The Laser Spooktacular special was nice too. But as for the cons, they had to shut down everything past the Ferris Wheel towards the Grizzly Run (half the park) just to fully operate the festivities. I recall the area past RoS being lively and decorated nicely (or even the entire half of the park that was actually open), with the pumpkin patch and a spooky pathway leading to the haunted house. It was alright for this type of event (not as big as Cedar Points or U.Studios). Frightworld and House of Horrors definitely made/make Darien Lake having a haunted house a bad decision. But I'm not saying it wasn't nice to try it out.
  12. Well, you could see it as the replacement for UFO too.
  13. I agree. With it being Rowdy Ridge, a matching themed family ride would fit in. I would also like another thrill ride though, but well, who doesn't? (I didn't say rollercoaster as well, that's unlikely in the first year of new ownership) Hope to get more info/pics from people going this month to see any changes even if it's just little things. Even things about the Harvest Fest, I'd like to know how that goes too.
  14. Okay, I'm not so clear or sure on this so: What's exactly wrong with Ranger? But there's no doubt it's going bye-bye now
