A few things I want to say. First of all, that entrance is going in the same place as the old one? Second, when do you think we'll see a real picture for the first time? I do like the concept art. I don't know why, but I feel like it's missing something. I'm 99% sure I'll change my mind when I see it in person though. I'm probably the only person in the world that misses the old entrance. Not that the new one is bad, but I just grew up with the other entrance and it's gonna feel odd seeing the new one. I'm sure I'll like it though. Also: that entrance would look WAY better with a coaster going over it!!! Do you think there's a way we could squeeze in a coaster in the Scandinavian area to go with the new entrance? I don't see it happening, but I hope so.

There's really not too much you can do other than buying tickets/fastlanes online. Unless you live relatively close enough to the park to have season passes, it will probably be pretty expensive for one visit. I visited the park 20 times this season, and I spend around $350 on my season pass (Platinum pass with Dining plan and soda cup) and definitely got my money's worth. Anyways, prices for Haunt weekends are usually around $35 each ticket. Fastlanes are about that same price. Yeah, about the only thing you could have done would be to buy 2017 season passes, and that would give you a free visit this year, which you could use for Haunt if you wanted. But that's not actually cheaper, as tickets online for Saturdays are $40 and Fast Lane is $40, so that'd be $160. Season passes go for $99 a piece, so $278 including Fast Lane. Almost twice as much; you'd just get more for your money. It's a good deal, but it sounds like that's not your goal. If you want to do rides and Haunt both, the only way to do it is to go on a Saturday and pay for Fast Lane. If you only care about rides, go on a Sunday, and there's no lines. It's half price essentially due to Fast Lane not being needed, but no Haunt that day. Really, if you're okay with driving to WoF and back in one day, go for the season pass. It's what, about 2 hours each way? We've had WoF season passes this year, and Six Flags St. Louis season passes the previous two years. We live in the Springfield-Branson area, so each park is about 3 hours from us, and we've still gone enough to make it worth it. We visited WoF 9 times this year all total, so we definitely got our money's worth. Thanks! I don't think I'll be buying a season pass, it's just too much for me to be able to spend right now, since it doesn't include a fast pass (unless I misread it). However, i have a question: On the WOF website, it says fast passes are $50, not $40. Is there a discount when you buy a certain amount of passes? Edit: Nevermind, re-read the 2017 season pass deal. Looks good to me. I got one 2017 pass and a ticket for a friend. Still wondering about why the passes on saturday are $50 instead of $40 though. Thanks!

Hey everyone, quick question, I live in Omaha and I'm planning to go to worlds of fun this Saturday. I want to buy fast lane tickets and I have to buy tickets for one other person, so it's gonna be pretty expensive. I'm trying to save some money on this, does anyone have some advice on how to get cheaper tickets or fast lane passes? Is there anything I can do?

Falcons Flight will be located where Le Carousel is, and Mustang Runner will be where all the markings are. It was specifically stated to go where the old kids bumper cars were. Also, do we know where these rides came from other than just Europe? I only go to the park once or twice a year, so I'm not really familiar with where the rides are located (other than rollercoasters and big flat rides). I figured Falcon's Flight is in the Europa section, but what about Mustang Runner? Americana I'm guessing? And a couple more questions that I seem to be out of the loop on: Is the entrance being completely relocated to a different area, or just being remodeled? And do we have an exact date that we are going to see concept art? Sorry for the rush of questions, I just feel like I'm missing a lot of information about this.

There are other things going on at the park next year that will be costing a lot of money, so I would guess the two rides are the extent of the new rides. We'll see if that front gate and new facade/upgrades to Tivoli finally come to fruition. They've only been planned and then put on the back burner for at least 3 years now I've heard the new front gate is happening. I guess the real question then is - will Fjord Fjairlane be moved elsewhere or retired (I'd be all for it being moved to Europa). They will also need to add some additional catered meal areas because it will take out Tivoli East and Central. No! anything but the Fjarlane!!! That was my favorite ride growing up as a kid. When I was about 5 or 6 I couldn't pronounce the name of the ride, and I actually pronounced the J's the way they would be pronounced in english. It has always been the traditional first ride of the park for me In fact, my 2 favorite rides before I grew big enough were the octopus, and the Fjarlane. I can't handle losing both of them!

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I planned a worlds of fun trip. I plan on driving down there in the next few weeks with some friends. We will stay fron opening time to closing time. What day of the week can we expect to be the least busy? I was thinking of going on a Monday or Tuesday. Any advice would be appreciated! If it's worth noting, I live in Omaha so it's about a 3 hour drive.

That's good to hear. Mamba needs some repainting. Any idea what parts have been touched up? Mamba is older than me (born in 1999) so I don't really know what it looked like when it was new. (and I guess what the ride experience was like but it's a steel coaster so I doubt it's changed.) Also, one more question: Has anyone noticed that when you get on the ride they say Mamba is one of the "tallest, fastest, and longest roller coasters in the world"? I know this isn't close to being true, so why do they say that? It's even in the description of the POV video on the Worlds of Fun youtube channel:

If you're into roller coasters and thrill rides only, I would recommend SFMM as you can ride some awesome coasters like X2, Twisted Colossus, Tatsu, and YOLOcoaster. But if that isn't an option, Knott's is great. Here is a quick overview of the major rides. To be honest, you probably won't find much of a difference between Silver Bullet and Patriot. Both are considered to be B&M's weakest inverts (even though I enjoy SB quite a bit), so don't expect anything mind-blowing. Smooth, loopy, and fun. Xcelerator is fantastic. It's unlike anything at Worlds of Fun. Hopefully by 2016 or 2017, when you visit, it will be in better shape than it is now, considering it has been running the same train for quite some time and needs some off-season work. It's still a great ride, regardless. GhostRider will likely be finished with its refurbishment when you visit, so it could very well be the best ride in the park if some serious work is done on it. When it's smooth (and minimal trimming on the MCBR), it's a very good coaster. Boomerang is Boomerang. Eh. For the credit? Montezooma's Revenge is a classic and there is nothing like it in the US. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it runs the fastest and goes higher up the spikes than any other operating shuttle loop. Ride the back row and front row at least once (the former being my favorite). The Log Ride, Calico Mine Ride, and Iron Reef are all great "dark" rides. The Log Ride and Calico are classic and have a lot of charm, and Iron Reef is pretty dang good for a CF dark ride (don't expect anything Disney or Universal level, but it isn't bad at all and gets more crap than it deserves IMO). Jaguar/Pony Express/Coast Rider/Sierra Sidewinder are fairly standard family coasters. Sidewinder is the best of them (and you may find some similarities with Spinning Dragons at WoF). Coast Rider is good when it isn't trimmed. Pony is pretty short and hurts my back, but you may find it fun. Jaguar is long, rough, and fairly boring, but worth a ride or two. Supreme Scream is your standard S&S drop tower. It's one of the taller ones (can't remember if it's the tallest S&S tower anymore). That's everything, I believe, in terms of major thrill rides. Ghost Town is historic and unique if you're into that kind of stuff. And who knows, maybe some new rides will be added if you end up visiting in 2017 . EDIT: And maybe this should have gone in the Knott's thread? I wasn't paying attention haha. Thanks! I am still trying to decide. SFMM sounds better but I have 2 little siblings going with me so I'm thinking Knott's is the way to go. Maybe I should have put this in the Knott's thread. But the reason I put it here is because I figured a lot of people in the Knott's thread haven't been to Worlds of Fun and might not be able to make a comparison. Anyways, thanks for the help!

Hey everyone, I just found out I have a chance to visit Knott's Berry Farm in either 2016 or 2017. We're going out to California to visit our cousins and my family is planning on going to Disney Land. However, I think Knott's is more of the park for me. My home park is Worlds of Fun, and I've never been to any other CF park. Can somebody explain how KBF and WOF compare? I know Knott's is much larger, but how do the rides compare? I am a fan of rollercoasters and thrill rides. A Cedar Point-style park would probably be my favorite (which is why I'd rather go to Knotts than Disney). Anyways, what can I expect when visiting a large Cedar Fair park for the first time after visiting Worlds of Fun every year?

I was looking at some of my old WOF maps I had as a kid, and I noticed something. There was this one ride that I used to go on as a kid when Camp Snoopy first opened. It was called Woodstock Express. I haven't been to the Planet Snoopy area in years, and I was wondering, does anyone know if it's still there? Has it been re-themed since Camp Snoopy is now Planet Snoopy? I think it was next to Wacky Worm (now Cosmic Coaster). Here's a picture of it: And also, I noticed in the drawing of the Planet Snoopy expansion, they have one that looks similar. Here's a picture of it (with the new ride circled) If it was removed, why are they adding another one that's essentially the same ride, and why did they remove the old one? I remember when I went on my first WOF trip at age 3, that and Woodstock's Airmail were my favorite rides. Now they're Mamba and Patriot and I'm 16

Or Australia/Oceana. If they did, maybe they could move Boomerang there (because it really is more of an australian-themed ride, just look at the sign) and have room for something nice where boomerang was. Adding another "World" wouldn't be good for the park and especially for the people who care about the history. Yes and No, There was a mid-east leg in the Around the World in 80 days adventure, so they could go with that, though I don't see that flying. I think they really need to figure out a good way to expand Orient. It's such a small area. Americana and Africa is huge in comparison. There's no planet snoopy in the book "around the world in 80 days"!!!! Never returning to WOF again!!!

Compare the markets and you'll see why CF is investing in Carowinds. The Charlotte area has a greater population and one of the fastest growth rate for cities in the US. Not to mention, the Raleigh-Durham area is only a couple of hours away and also has one of the fastest rates as well. Outside of KC, where is WoF going to draw its visitors? Worlds of Fun pulls visitors from Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Northern Oklahoma, and in some cases, Colorado. You'd be surprised at all of the tags you can see in the parking lot at Worlds of Fun. As I said, it has the potential to draw from St. Louis as well, Six Flags St. louis exists, but if WoF can give people a reason to come there, then that pays off in the end. Yep. I live in Omaha and I visit WOF at least once a year, usually twice, this year 3x. (Well, 2 so far, hoping to visit haunt)

Yes, Cedar Point will continue to get new rides because it makes a ton of money. Yeah, real neglectful of Cedar Fair to keep investing into the park. I'm sorry. That was not very well thought out by me and I was just a bit disappointed about what's been happening the last few years. It was more of a rant than it was anything.

I agree, launch coaster. I know CF will never give us a Giga, but why did they give us a hyper? Being from Nebraska I want to go on a giga someday but there's nowhere close except for WOF. What I mostly want is for CF to stop neglecting it's smaller parks. I am not asking for 250+ ride, I just want something nice more often than every 7 years. NOTHING new since 2009 at WOF except for a lousy broken hand-me-down windseeker.
