  1. My apologies then. I could swear that I distinctly remember my mother telling me as a child how the queue had been changed. Perhaps this is a different modification that was made substantially before the entrance move in 2006?
  2. I promise this is not to criticize, just more for your information than anything, it's Screamin' Eagle - American Eagle is in Gurnee. Also the entrance has been where it is since I was a child, probably close to 20 years since it was moved. And yes, it's annoying how Six Flags feels like they need to force you through a shop/arcade before/after so many rides. I'm sorry you didn't have a great time with the ride, it's been my favorite classic woodie since childhood, and if you sit in the right spots and they don't staple you in, you get tons of air.
  3. Sounds like the park was pretty rough yesterday. I learned years ago to never visit on a holiday or any day with BAFF passes. The place is just out of control. I also rarely go on weekends anymore. The last time I did was opening weekend this year and got super burned by long lines, tons of rides operating reduced capacity or not at all, and that crazy power outage. Apparently tons of people got "rain checks" that day but I sure didn't. When we went back to the gate to inquire about them after hearing about it, we were told the park was closed and were asked to leave. We tried to go back the next day and it wasn't any better. The power may as well have been off that day too because we got 2 rides in 3 hours and left. That experience had me fuming for days and I didn't go back until weekday evening operations started. Since then though, I've had a pretty ok year at SFSTL. Lines were manageable and I got a couple rides on JLBFM. Fantastic ride! Overall they seem like they're actually trying to improve on the park's shortcomings and I'm optimistic. Still, my biggest complaint I feel would be about operations. I only got to go to three parks this year (SFSTL, HW, KK) and the only truly great park experience I had was at Holiday World, and it was fantastic as usual. However in SFSTL's defense, their operations and guest experience are infinitely better than those at Kentucky Kingdom (HORRENDOUS). I'm very anxious to see the improvements SFSTL can achieve in the coming years. I'm quite optimistic.
  4. I do remember him saying that several pages back. I believe the words were "I can guarantee you'll be able to ride it next year." But some articles have stated Fireball is going where it currently is. Perhaps they're moving it? Yeah, that confused me. The article did not inclde a closing date either. If they did move it then it could use some paint. I wonder if we will see any name changes ala SFGADv from any of these superloops I find it interesting especially since they just recently rebuilt the whole deck for the ride. You are correct though, it could use a good deal of TLC.

  6. But guys, they are. Watch the video. At the end of it they say "The all new Fireball looping coaster launching in 2016." If they really try to call this the 10th coaster I'll be pretty upset.
