As has been stated, assigned seating for rides at Dollywood is not common, Pretty sure EVERY train that leaves Mystery Mine is assigned seating. Maybe all Dollywood host don't know what they're talking about as proven again here. Mystery Mine assigns a row, not a seat and Mountain Slidewinder has to assign seating to properly distribute weight in each boat. These have been the only rides to assign placement in the park before LRod. Barnstormer assigns you a side of a swing but not a seat. THANKS Well if we are going to go this route, your post was still incorrect. LR does not assign "seats" either. They tell you what "row" to go to and you pick your own seat. Really, you're going to correct someone on the whole "seats" vs "rows" comment? Dude, take a break and walk away from the computer for a bit. No one wants to read posts like these. Obviously you did AND took the time to post back. Maybe you should read every post on this board if you think these are the only ones like it. -

I rode backrow, and held on for dear life the whole time. It takes a lot for me to put my arms down. And the thing was a walkon!!! Back row Thunderhead is an amazing ride! Love all of the airtime and turns! -

And please don't be rude; we welcome park staff to post on here. Excuse me? Being rude? Do you actually read all the post on here? If you go back a page or so, Rob is calling people who like floaties "pussies" but you call me rude? And how do you know that I am not a park employee>? -

The coaster has 2 trains. From the number of sections sitting on the ground, it appears to only be 1 train off the track broken up. Not sure why they took the one train off last night, but one is off and sitting on the ground. -

I want to think the coaster will open soon, but last night while leaving the park, the trains were taken off the track again and are now sitting in the parking area at the bottom of the station. -

Here is a quick video of the coaster going over the lift and 2nd hill. You can see the coaster is moving fine over the hills with a train of people. Wait until close to the end and you can see the coaster in the bottom of the screen on its way back to the station before going into the quadruple-down. I think the countdown is on..... coaster.MOV -

We were at Dollywood this weekend and LR was testing. Also, I thought I posted this last week, but maybe I forgot. The coaster has been officially turned over to Dollywood. It was turned over to Dollywood last Monday, 05.09 and the LR crew has been training and riding the coaster. I will say, I was told by one of the LR ride ops this weekend that after the coaster was turned over to Dollywood and they began their training, the trains were still running upwards to 90 MPH on some testing and Dollywood wasn't happy with this, because it is burning out wheels and brakes. They are now looking into this issue and how to slow it down. He also stated the coaster was supposed to open to the public last Wed, 05.11 but because of the speed, Dollywood decided to keep it down. The actual LR crew is supposed to be back in the station today to continue training while Dollywood works on the speed issue. If you are at the park, be sure and watch out for them. -

It's okay Guy. Saturday at the parade in the park, I asked Dolly if she was still a fan of yours even though you lost your faith in her and she gave you 2 big thumbs up! Guess she still likes you after all! -

Hey Guy.... So this past weekend, when I saw Dolly the first time, I told her that you no longer believed that LR would open. I told her that you had lost all faith in her (and humanity for LR) and I asked her what message I could take back to you from her. Here was her response for you! Dolly sticking tongue out at Guy from TPR. -

Tina?! Nina is so 2015. So can we assume LR is not opening this weekend? Or will Dolly do a surprise opening? The suspense... LR will not open this weekend after all. -

We tried to avoid the Pigeon Forge strip all together. It looks like one massive trashy tourist trap. We thought Gatlinburg was much nicer. We particularly enjoyed free moonshine tasting at Ol Smokey Moonshine and the Old Smokey Brewery. Kade's Cove in the State Park is neat, but God help you if you visit on a weekend. Not to be too picky.... but its Cades Cove and it is a National Park (Great Smoky Mountain National Park). -

Dollywood's next "big day" is on May 6th when Dolly will be there for her annual homecoming. If I was a 'betting man", I would bet that we will see Dolly officially open the coaster on this date! Anyone else agree? -

Oh and I almost forgot. If you come to the park this weekend, please leave your bags in the car. Dollywood has started security checkpoints at the front gate. Don't carry large bags and slow the lines down! -

I was beaten to the punch, but yes, I was going to let everyone know the above. -=CoasterBP Maybe Danny Robbins needs to stop spewing information he doesn't know to be correct or true and allow the real PR team, Pete and his group, to give out the information. Just saying... Or maybe coaster enthusiasts should stop stalking his personal Instagram asking him a bunch of questions. He's just trying to be nice and pass off as good as information as he has. I really hope nothing bad comes of this for him because I have met him at the park multiple times and he is one of the best/nicest employees there. He remembered my wife and I when we weren't there for a year. For someone who sees hundreds of thousands of guests a year I really appreciated it. And really why does it matter what is wrong, if it was a programming issue is one of us going to go there and fix it for them? They have clearly stated it wasn't a catastrophic failure. It will be open when they say it's ready. I'll be there Monday or Tuesday next week regardless, the park was fantastic before Lightning Rod and will be great next week. That said I would love if by some chance they work out the kinks by Tuesday but I am not expecting it. Maybe you saw something that none of us did, but none of the post on here, copied from Danny's IG, had any questions to Danny in them. He freely posted the feeds of what he "thought" was true for the ride and park and it turned out to be a false statement. Dollywood has a very strict media relations policy and the employee handbook clearly states what you can and can not post on social media. One of the big no-no's is posting statements answering public questions or providing answers for public comments. Danny knows this policy, or at least signed his handbook statement that he does, so why put yourself at the risk of termination for violating policy and posting "crap" on social media that you don't know what you are talking about, and now one of the companies that Dollywood works with had to go on social media and post a correction to Danny's post calling out his error. It doesn't look good for Dollywood when one of the company employees is spewing wrong information about a new ride and one of the companies that is building it. Dolly has rescheduled media day for 03.24. This would be a great day to be at Dollywood if you want to ride the new coaster. -

Would you not think it will open next Thursday on March 24th? That is the day that Dolly has rescheduled the media event for the park. She is at the park right now. Her bus is at DreamMore, she just arrived at the park 15 mins or so ago. She is here this weekend but not doing public stuff. She isn't holding the media event because the ride is not ready. Why would she come back in a week on 03.24 to hold the media event if the ride wasn't going to open that day either? If you think about it, that should be the official ride opening day as long as nothing new comes up between now and then. -

I keep seeing these Instagram screen shots - is there any credibility here? With random pictures of the ride being posted and then "super inclusive info", has someone confirmed these people are actually with Dollywood/RMC/etc? Danny Robbins started at Dollywood as a ride op on Wild Eagle. He quit Dollywood and went to another company for more pay. After several months of being gone, he returned to Dollywood and now works with a program called, "Helping Hands". Basically its a labor pool for the park for any area that needs help, they request the help and one of the helping hands employees goes and works that ride or merchandise shop or where ever for that day. -
