  1. Alright I need some honesty here. I love going on any coaster. I have found myself very found of Cedar Fair parks and feeling that the park is well maintained and somewhat clean. As a Midwesterner I went to Six Flags Great America a few years ago and a few of the coasters I didn't even feel safe getting on as there were several broken seats. I also thought it looked as if American Eagle is being left to rot, but still running as is. I wasn't impressed with the staff either. Granted it's hard for anyone to live upto Disney or Holiday World, but it was terrible. Is there any reason to expect differently at Magic Mountain. I am really on super limited time in California. I love coasters and know SFMM is the coaster capital of the west. Be real and let me know what's up. Thanks!
  2. What are the chances of this opening by Memorial Day weekend? Media day just before? Last year Goliath at SFGA super late. I haven't fully committed to 3 day tickets at Disneyland yet. Still curious about SFMM, Knotts, and Back to the Future filming locations lol.
  3. I rode Legend on Sunday and it was great. Didn't see it coming. Expected a dud and was pleasantly surprised. I am really curious about the financials on Thunderbird. From what I remember XFlight was about 12 million and Thunderbird was 22. I totally love having a B and M launch coaster near by and Thunderbird is unique in multiple ways over other winged coasters nearby. Which is why I think it is my favorite. Is the launch aspect of it really an additional 10 million dollars? When they post an investment cost what all does the park include? Thanks!
  4. I rode Voyage for the first time on Sunday. My favorite ride going into it that I have been on is "The Beast". My initial reaction was WOW. I absolutely loved it. I though am a huge fan of run away out of control wooden roller coasters. I love the harsh tunnels, etc. I will say when I rode the back row it was a bit much and almost surprised I didn't crack a rib... it was a rush.. I honestly had never drove the 3 hours to Holiday World before, because I am a bit of a Coaster snob. I really have to have at least 4 or 5 coasters, and I prefer several steel. However, with Voyage and now Thunderbird... I had to go. I have a hard time deciding between Beast and Voyage. I think Voyage is a better ride, and Beast at night is just the best experience. I also love the history and length of Beast. So Beast likely wins for me, but Voyage was wow. I have been to a good number of parks out of the Midwest too, and most of my favorites are at KI and now Holiday World.
  5. Wow... I totally think Gatekeeper is superior to XFlight. That being said I haven't been to Dollywood for Wild Eagle. Of the three I have been on Id say Thunderbird, Gatekeeper, XFlight. I still don't see why everyone doesn't like Gatekeeper. Love it. I guess I just need to give up on this!
  6. I thought it was 39.99 for the day and it was 44.99 at the gate now. Same thing with TPRs members forum Price was 5 higher than what it said. I don't know much about what it really was as I have never been there was just a bit more than I had planned. I did get an EXCELLENT deal with great weather and low crowds today!
  7. I never said it wasn't worth the price at all. I was just letting people know. It should go up they bought a 22 million dollar coaster.
  8. I do think the TPR member prices went up this year based on what it said online for last year, but I am betting so did the normal Admission too.
  9. So I went to Holiday World today with my brother and got to ride Thunderbird 8x. I thought the left side was the best, but the right side seemed better for the last inversion thru the broken barn building. The ride itself was awesome and top notch. I have now been on three of the four B and M winged coasters in the US. The one I am missing is Wild Eagle. I'd say Thunderbird is the best. I enjoy Gatekeeper a lot though and I know a lot of you don't. I thought the ride was a totally different experience as Thunderbird is low to the ground which is pretty cool. Thunderbird is very short, but it is all punch. Which is true about every coaster at Holiday World. I live in Indiana and I had never been to Holiday World, but have been to 20 plus parks now. I think the Voyage is my new favorite Wooden Coaster, but I am still very partial to the Beast at night. I was not there for anything but the coasters to be honest. I went without my kids as such, but I think they would love the park a lot. My ranking of rides there 1. Voyage, 2. Thunderbird, 3. Legend(surprised me had a lot of punch), 4. Raven. I know a lot love the Raven, but this is how it worked for me. The Voyage completed me riding all the top ten coasters from Travel Channel's Insane Coaster Wars season 1 top ten. So that was kinda cool. Thanks for those who I talked to on here earlier for the information on seats on Thunderbird, etc and getting me to go!
  10. I am gonna be at Disneyland May 21 thru 24 and will be there for the 24 hour event and my birthday. Has anyone used Ticketsatwork yet for the discount for TPR members and how did that turn out for you?
  11. What are anticipated waits for this? I waited 3 hours for Banshee opening day and I think I was a lucky one. Obviously Sunday will be day two for this one.
  12. Alright so I am dropping weight and on a calorie Counting diet. I am 5'11 and am under 260 at this point getting into the lower 250s now. I was at one point last year on the 270s and made it on every ride at Cedar Point but mantis, and everything I wanted or tried at Kings Island. I fit on Gatekeeper in row 4 no problem and Banshee in every row. Will I have an issue with Thunderbird if I go Sunday morning. I can't make it to Holidog nights. I am going to Disneyland for the 24 hour event and can't get off that much work. I live in Indiana but it is a 3 hour drive. Thanks!
  13. Here is a video taken last night of the fire aftermath. It isn't much at all and Small World is totally unscathed.

  15. I heard the fire was out as of now that the fire started on a tarp that was over outside of ride that was covering it during refurbishment. Also heard ride is not damaged just outside building. We shall see. This is from Instagram feeds of people at park currently.
