  1. Howdy, all I will be heading to SFGAdv for the first time on Saturday, October 3rd (in a little over a week). We are planning on getting there prior to the park opening, and staying until about 4pm or so, until we head to the airport for our flight back west. I posted a message a couple of weeks ago, and appreciate the feedback... but was curious if there's any further tips from all of you that are very familiar with the park. I realize the park will be very crowded, so I'll try and maximize my few hours there as much as possible... and outside of getting credits on as many coasters as I can, I really do want to focus on El Toro, Nitro and at least one ride on Kingda Ka while I'm there... with the potential for Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Bizarro and Skull Mtn if the lines are manageable. I plan on arriving at 10:30 (for an 11am park opening...) Is that too early, or will crowds already begin to descend prior to that time? Also - has anyone purchased discount tickets using the Coasters for a Cause promo code? We are not season pass holders, so I'm looking for a potential promotional discount, and this looks legit - just wanted to make sure before I purchase. It appears to be accepted on the six flags website. Thanks for any help you can provide!
  2. GL and Zumanjaro. Both are near useless. Good to know - thanks guys!
  3. Quick question for you SFGAdv pros - are there any single rider lines at the park?
  4. Completely different post from the current discussion... hopefully I'm not breaking up the flow. I am headed to SFGAdv for the first time on Saturday, October 3rd. I will be out on the East Coast on business, and got a flight home for that night, and thought I would head over right at opening and get as much riding in by 4 or 5pm. A few questions for you park veterans out there: 1) Is the park generally crowded earlier in the day on Fright Fest days? 2) If I will only be in the park 5-6 hours, what is the best park strategy? Does it make sense to run to Kingda Ka first? 3) Speaking of KK - does it generally open at park opening? 4) I am not a season passholder (I live in Utah...) Outside of getting tickets on the SF site online, is there another cheaper option for a one-day ticket for Fright Fest? Looking forward to visiting the park! I've wanted to visit for years... Thanks in advance for any advice provided!
  5. No Pooh dark ride. Probably because Hong Kong already has it. Same with Toy Story Playland. There will be a Snow White walkthrough inside the castle... "A magnificent, winding staircase in the middle of the castle will lead guests on a “Once Upon a Time Adventure” providing a memorable experience created especially for Shanghai Disneyland. For the first time in a Disney park, guests will interact with an animated version of Snow White as they stroll through scenes of her story. Passing through a “Magic Mirror” portal and into this wonderful fairy tale, guests will meet Snow White’s friends, witness the evil deeds of her enemies, and share her dreams through realistic, interactive technology. This “Once Upon a Time Adventure” has special meaning to China since Snow White was introduced as a Disney princess in Shanghai on Feb. 8, 1938, with the premiere of the animated movie, Snow White." Correct... "The flying sensation in Peter Pan’s Flight will be enhanced by a newly developed inverted-coaster ride system, debuting at a Disney park for this attraction. With new magic, the ride vehicles swoop closer to the action with varying speeds, enabling guests to become more immersed in the story as they fly in and out of each scene." Great info.... thanks!
  6. I had thought that there would be a Winnie the Pooh dark ride along with the Hunny Pot Spin... is that correct? If so, perhaps it is where one of the "?"'s is... or has nothing been announced? Also - does anyone know the answers to the following? - does Roaring Rapids have just the one animatronic? (although it looks like a doozy...) I had thought there may be some prehistoric creatures throughout the show building portion of the ride... but wasn't sure. - I had thought I had heard of some cool things taking place inside the castle (outside of the Voyage to the Crystal Grotto) but they didn't mention anything in the announcement outside of the stage shows and the boat ride. Are they keeping that close to the vest until opening? - I had also heard that Peter Pan may be a unique ride system compared to the others... perhaps even a very mild inverted family coaster.... anyone know more?
  7. Long time lurker... first time poster. I've been following the construction since Day 1 - so I'm happy to finally see a great POV video of the finished product. It looks great! Like many of you, I can't wait to see how it looks at night! Robb - one kinda sorta on-topic question for you... I heard a disturbing rumor on MiceChat that they were cutting the budget for AvatarLand, and are no longer doing the boat ride... please say it isn't so! The whole land has the potential to be a game changer... and as excited as I was for the simulator/flyer/Soarin' attraction, I was excited that another big ride was being built as well. I would be bummed if we're only seeing one new ride and maybe a restaurant and shop. See what you can find out during media days, if at all possible. Thanks!
