  1. For those wondering about the height, here's how it compares right next to SkyScreamer. It appears to be on the same footprint as Flashback was. Still a nice new view when you drive into the park.
  2. So this is now happening... Driving by at lunch time and noticed Riddler Revenge is now going vertical quickly. 3 cranes all working on it at the same time.
  3. Just hover your mouse over the TX Sky Screamer Gold Pass preview and it pops up with more detailed info with the times 2-6 pm.
  4. Just got a Six Flags Over Texas newsletter. Nothing too special. Except I noticed that on the calendar, it shows that Thursday, May 23 will be preview day of Texas Sky Screamer for Gold Pass Season Ticket holders only from 2-6pm. I knew purchasing a Gold Pass this year was a worthwhile investment! You can count me in for being there at 2:00.
  5. Driving home from work, I noticed they were in the process of basic testing so I decided to stop by for a picture. I watched for about 15 minutes. They were just very very slowly raising the swing carriage to the very top of the tower, let it sit there for a while, then very very slowly brought it back down. No spinning or anything, which is to be expected during basic tests. But for now, enjoy the pic.
  6. Went to park today just to check things out and see Texas Sky Screamer up close. It was insanely crowded and busy. I guess a lot of schools were there for an "end-of-the-year" trip, combined with there being a cheerleading competition going on in the Amphitheater. Every major ride had a line at least an hour long, with most 2+ hours. Even the lines for food were 30 minutes or more at the main eateries. Needless to say, I walked around for a bit, took some pics, and will come back when it's way less crowded. But for now, enjoy the pics! Six Flags' new skyline Standard pic from the Oil Derrick. Notice the crowded parking lot... Man, it's tall! Too tall to get the entire tower in 1 shot, so I attempted a panoramic pic. Hence, the slightly curved tower since I can't hold my hand steady. This is gonna make people think they didn't build it right! Swings have been installed already Something new by Judge Roy Scream $8.99 for a pretzel and water! What a deal! No wonder I never eat at the park...
  7. Here is a really cool angle and a great perspective of just how tall this ride is. This pic is taken from the 2nd level inside Cowboys Stadium looking out across to the Rangers Ballpark. You can see the Texas Sky Screamer just towering over the ballpark and making Titan, Superman, and the Oil Derrick look tiny.
  8. Here's the final piece being lifted into place, as promised.
  9. Up to the minute news! Within the last 10 minutes, Texas Sky Screamer was topped off! I had the privilege of being in the right place at the right time to film it. Video will be on YouTube shortly. For now, enjoy the pics! Pre-topping off What a great entrance to the park now! There it is!
  10. Another update. It appears they have completed the main structure of the tower (same height as earlier update) and just need to place the topper on possibly tomorrow it looks like. Can't wait to see it! More flags, more fun! The topper ball looks awesome too!
  11. I work within half a mile of the park so I will check on it again when I get off work and post more of the progress. They did that much in less than 6 hours so I can only imagine what more they'll be able to get done today.
  12. Texas Sky Screamer is going very vertical, very fast; complete with swings being installed! It looks awesome! Very vertical! The swings are being installed as well!
  13. I always follow these forums so I think it's about time I finally post something. I work literally right next to Six Flags and was extremely excited to see Texas Skyscreamer finally go vertical. I will try to post progress pics as much as possible. Texas Skyscreamer going vertical
