Maybe I can try to clear this up. Dolphin Cove is going to be closing down towards the end of the month to make way for a new dolphin exhibit. The current exhibit is going to double in size and have an under water viewing area, just like Orlando. They will (most likely) continue doing the current dolphin touch programs where you get that guaranteed touch with a dolphin. They are going to be building a brand new complex that will house the 3 interaction programs. SeaWorld currently offers the Beluga and Sea Lion interaction in their back pools. This new complex will be specifically designed for these programs and will (most likely) be open for everyone to watch. There will be 3 separate area for Beluga Bay, Sea Lion Shallows, and Dolphin Lagoon. You can expect this to feel a lot like Discovery Cove in orlando. -
Just got back from the park today. If they are shooting for a Memorial Day Opening, they are going to need a miracle. (Sorry I forgot to take a picture). The slides still haven't made much progress and SF posted on their Facebook page pictures of the new pool/bar. It appears they are still pouring the cement for it. So who knows? Maybe SF can do it and open for Memorial Day weekend but I'm doubtful.

if you read thru this thread, you'll note that (in my opinion) Fiesta is notorious for running only one train on busy days (to up the Fast Pass sales, I'd guess). the good thing is that Fiesta does have some really fun flats, and for the most part, the coaster lines move fast (tho on a busy day, I've seen waits on Pandemonium and Scooby Doo reach well over 2 hours). Any coasters/rides with single rider lines? Pandemonium/Tony Hawk used to, but they have redone the line since Halloween. (There was a halloween maze in the line this past year). So I'm not 100% they still have the single rider line.

Not so much advice but something to keep in mind. April isn't usually too busy of a time for the parks, especially with you going two days you will be fine. However, late April usually begins the band festival invasion. Pretty much band/orchestra/choir kids compete in a competition at a nearby school and apart of the competition you get to go to Six Flags. It's just an excuse for a band trip. haha. So keep in mind the park might be swarming with middle/high school kids. If you drive into parking and see a bunch of charter buses/school buses on the right side, your in for an interesting time. Hopefully it shouldn't be too bad and I hope you have a fun trip with good weather! Be sure to see the 2 shows as well!

I was at the park for a little bit on Wednesday as well. When we drove up to parking they informed us that due to the winds the bigger rides like Superman and Irat would be closed. This wasn't a big deal for us because we were going to see the shows anyway. However, walking around the park I never realized how many big rides there were. Nearly everything was closed. I'd say the only major attraction I saw going was the Roadrunner. All the smaller rides were open of course but that was about it. Yes, the winds were really bad that day so I understand the reasoning to close everything but I almost started thinking they shouldn't have even opened the park. Like I said, I went to go see the shows and only Rockville was showing on Wednesday. (Country show had their day off). Which brings me to an issue I have had for years. Why don't they post their show times online? This has bothered my family for years and its very frustrating. Especially a park that is known for their shows! But I will add the park was spotless because everyone who was supposed to be working rides was out cleaning the park. I left at 2 and I did start to see them warm up the Scream but I have no idea if they eventually opened stuff up.

Can't wait!! -
I was at the park for HIP opening on Friday. Superman and Poltergeist are not even on the map so theres no hope in them opening that up. As promised I-rat was open. I believe it got down to 57 degrees that night? They were only running one train when I got on. Maybe it's because I haven't been on irat since August but I couldn't tell a difference in speed. I rode 2nd from the back and it was a kick butt ride as always. I did notice that they had a ride op at the entrance telling people where to sit. At first I didn't like it because I want to sit where I want, but they realized its probably so they know they are filling the trains. As always the park was festive. Having the pathway connect from sky screamer to irat was nice. Yes, the waterfalls were on and lit very nicely. That was a nice touch. The pathway isn't decorated as much as the rest of the park but it was nice regardless.
