  1. I have been a member of ACE for many years and many amusement parks have closed in the past. GL was and always will be a special park to many of us. When SW closed I saw a decline in attendence and I saw the changes in the park at GL(downsizing).I had a feeling that the end was near when 2 coasters were removed in one year. Sometimes rollercoasters/rides are saved when an amusement park closes and sometimes they're not. CF did try to sell rides on the internet websites after the park closed and they also had an auction. I feel that they did try to preserve some of the parks rides even though the park was closed. If the Big Dipper is removed from GL it will always be still at GL in my memory and that's where I have my memories now. Is the previous owner still going to take down the coaster or do they have anyone with coaster knowledge about dismantling coasters and rebuilding them?
  2. We have been successful saving the Big Dipper for the last 3 years since the park closed it has been SBNO. I'm in shock and disbelief that this is happening at our park(GL). I was hoping that the coaster would remain at GL and reopen. The Big Dipper is very historical. It was built in 1925 and it's the oldest roller coaster in Ohio. I hope that these people have a plan and know people who know how to take down a coaster and rebuild one. It sounds like a great plan but without land, money, and people who want it to stay in Ohio you get nowhere. When are they supposed to dissassemble the ride/coaster?
