  1. okay, the cage would be incredible if the g transitions were smooth and the negatives just around 0 , -0.2 or something of the sort......

would have to be very delicate with positive g transitions from negative ? i don't think that would work, as in first drop, negative gs, bottom of the hill strong positives...

okay , so, would a hyper have more positive g forces than riddlers in the first place, why ? the large hills make for , yes longer gs, but not necessarily faster transitions of g forceexperiences, perhaps we would have to have mellow positive s and laterals but we could still have some nice airtime and make it an interesting experience ?

the idea of a cage with a gratuitously loose lap pad of sorts, to let you have 3-4 inches of airtime regardless of your size, in a sitting position is appealing. perhaps an automatic large padded bar that is purposely lifted a few inches above you to allow floating,

  2. Sounds like a nice idea. I'm up for it.

I had an idea for B&M to bring back stand-up and suspended: combine them.

Think about it, swinging at angles more than 90 degrees while standing!

    Just an idea though.

hmm that could be nice, i am not sure about it , now if you could do a suspended inverted stand up with no floor, and somehow have a restraint mechanism, or minimal floor , like say , in a sort of a cage so there is great spaciousness!

I am very interested in a very twistey diving, turning , swooping, few straight airtime hills with a strong negative g force, style stand up hyper, or even mega coaster, albeit we have to deal with the restraints it could be very fun and drops on a stand up would be nice.

Perhaps you could have 1 train stand up and 1 train sitting, with a dual loading station.

  3. hey guys i have a question i am sure has been asked before please forgive

What was Goliath's trim like opening year ? I was watching a POV just now and i thought about my very first ride on Goliath, and I recall that it did not seem like the trim slowed the trains down very much....

and i know for certain the first drop used to not slow down at the top of the hill, causing air-time,

Is there any way for SFMM to run the ride this way regularly ?

  4. This looks really fun, but I think it seems dumb to consider it as something that will "give riders the thrills of a looping inverted coaster."

unicoaster is a coaster where those seats are on a track and you might be able to control their flipping with a lever ( ? )

the man who invented it invented sky diving tunnels anyone can just jump into that he wants to send to fair parks, but when i describe it that way its of total exceptional safety rather than something as wacky (long words!)

    http://www.unicoaster.com/

( " SkyVenture is a state-of-the-art skydiving wind tunnel designed for the general public. SkyVenture completely immerses visitors in the world of high adventure skydiving, without ever having to pack a parachute, pull a ripcord, or jump out of a perfectly good airplane. No experience is necessary. Virtually anyone can fly." )

[the other thing he designed aside from skycoasters!)

  5. Number one material:

    -Goliath, SFOG

-Scooby Doo's Spooky Coaster, Movie World (AU)

    -Mystery Mine, Dollywood

    -Space Mounatain, DL

    -Maverick, CP

    -Shock Wave, SFOT

Not number one material, but damn good.

    -Diamondback

    -Steel Hawg

    -Cali Screamin

    -Mindbender

    -Titan

    -Afterburn

    -Raptor

    -Top Thrill Dragster

    -Millennium Force

    -Superman: KC

    -Great White

    -Steel Eel

    -Mr. Freeze

-Tennessee Tornado. This ride kicks A$$!

    Top Wooden:

    1. Voyage

    2. Cornball Express

    3. Kentucky Rumbler

    4. Raven

    5. Georgia Cyclone

    6. Boardwalk Bullet

    7. Thunderhead

    8. Gemini

    9. Blue Streak

    10. The Beast

great white is a good ride and i got to ride it so much without getting off because silly people were at a shamu show and the line was empty,

but its a batman clone, and batman is not on your list, which is odd to miah

  6. someone explain ghostriders history to me

when i rode it was the best ride ever, better than el toro, or goliath in its opening year where it had airtime in the first drop even,

it was amazing, and i rode in the very back with semi-loose restraints, and had incredible air on every hill,

do any of you ride it in the backseat with the restraints this way ?

i think this was the year 2000 and 2001

  7. I was really amazed how much butt-out-of-the-seat moments Shockwave has at SFoT. It is certainly another high quality Schwarzy. Mindbender will always be my favorite, but I have to give Shockwave a slight edge in the airtime department...especially at the third drop in the back row.

i don't remember airtime on shockwave! i went on it a few times and it was a very good ride, but perhaps its been too long ago to remember its details.

  8. what years of Ghostrider were "good"

i think i went on it in 2001 and had mind blowing airtime on every every every single hill, unforgettable, better than el toro (not quite as intense, but its not just out and back hill hill hill and painfully intense turns that i wish were airtime hills instead)

then i went on in 2003 and did not get the ejector air but my cousin didn't agree that we needed the BACK and went one row up from it instead (which i've always noted is a no no no no no on that ride, back back back of silver train back in those days)

my friend and i loosened our restraints as much as we felt safe doing , and we sat in such ways so that it was harder for them to staple us

"standing air" actually meant something literal and beyond that

and of course it was tremendously rough

i think we went on it again in 2002 and it was still good, with ridiculous lines

in 2003 i did not feel the air i adored, but i didn't get to sit where i wanted.

  9. Can you still get airtime on ripsaw falls after they altered it ?

Was it normal to get airtime on the flume?

I went on it once and for fear of damaging my cell phone sat in an odd configuration. The heaviest person was in front, then a little girl, then me.

I had incredible floating air in this log flume.

So I am wondering : was that normal :

    does it still happen?

: is there a giant IOA thread ?

Perhaps the greatest drop ever, it was.

  10. Haha I agree with a lot of people's reasonings for riding where they do.

I think it is best to ride Batman in the front, but I never have, only because I don't think it is worth waiting an additional couple of trains. So I usually take whatever has no one waiting in the particular row queue.

I like Riddlers at the front for similar reasons. I like to see what is ahead, rather than the seats in front of me. Unlike Batman, I have rode in the front multiple times though .

For Tatsu, I like the back because it feels like you get pulled more especially during the first drop. So it feels a lot more intense for me. I have rode both the back and front. B&M is right that it doesn't really matter as far as seeing things are concerned because everyone is looking down; but the only reason I have a preference for the back is because of what I previous mentioned.

Goliath - the back is good because you get pulled down the drop and the helix seems a lot more intense. However, at the front, it is nice to see the drop that's ahead of you while waiting for the back of the train to finish coming up the chain lift before you proceed forward, etc. Haha.

Goliath's helix in back seat = very good

my friend and i both had a brief blackout once during it, but don't tell your mothers (unless they like this sort of thing)

it was truly a mark of genius,

    wonderful wonderful helix.

    /// hey guys

What is the difference between Jet Stream and Log Jammer

    are they both log rides?

LJ's drop amazed me as a youth and I fancied it greater than Splash Mountain, though the theming there is "the win"

what is the name of their boat ride, do they still have it ?

is jet stream the boat ride?

  11. Nitro at Great Adventure gives a lot of amazing airtime, especially in the back row. I'm pretty sure the other B&M Hypers have this in common.

i had better air in the middle of nitro than the back

the hills were designed that the cresting of them, sans the first drop, seemed to be where the air was, not the dropping down them quite as much?

really though, with a properly loose restraint arrangement, the best airtime ever ever ever i've had is the surprise drop in Ghostrider in the back seat!

its just as good as El toro, but the layout is much more unique.

maybe el Toro is just a bit more intense air,

the thing is Ghostrider seems to ONLY have this air IN THE BACK

if you are even one row up from it, and still in the last car, nope.
