Interesting as well as slightly disappointing.
This is my feeling as well. The teaser campaign made this seem like it would be something brand new, never before seen.
It is brand new. No one has ever built 3 different height S&S towers right next to each other.
No one has ever built dueling Wacky Worms before, but that doesn't mean it sounds like a great idea.
Wait, dueling Wacky Worms would be an AWESOME idea!

Is this the only gci to have 3 trains??

Reading any new coaster thread on here always hurts my brain. How about this, go out and RIDE IT. after you do that then you can judge it. There have been many rides that i thought would be new number 1 (Wildfire, Megalites) that end up being good but not OMG blow my mind away. I don't judge a ride until i ride it, and i don't buy into this fan boy stuff where you have to ride in the left seat on the 3rd tuesday of July when it is exactly 87.2 degrees outside.
In the end, stop bitching on a forum and go out and enjoy the coasters with friends.

I am a little sad
It would also seem they didnt pay their employees for the last 2 pay periods. I cant see this ending well....

Sadly they announced on FB this park closed today.

Sad it only lasted 2 months. From what i heard from a friend that went there the owners really wanted it to work.

I'm not sure that we have any patent lawyers on TPR that can properly answer that questions. Patent law can be complex.
We don't have any mechanics with experience working on complex launched wooden roller coasters either but that never stopped anyone from providing us with page after page worth of unimaginable horse sh*t about how they should have built it and what the P.R. team is doing wrong during the delay. The TPR patent law experts will be here soon. It's best to just get a beer or twelve and prepare for the inevitable.
This may be the best thing i have read on the internet in a long long time

For me it is Mining Coaster at Taman Safari Indonesia, Gusanito de Esquilania at Esquilandia in Guatemala and Harvest Time at Jungleland in Indonesia. I then have 8 more that only have 3-5 riders, mostly in Indonesia, Guatemala and Japan.

So does this park have any actual theming? From the overhead it looks like it has a nice front gate then a bunch of rides plopped down in a field...
With 15 Coasters though, im sure i will make a trip over in the fall. It looks a little ambitious for an August opening.

Found a construction shot of the new kiddie coaster in the Ireland area.
Most exciting ride for 2016!!!

I dont understand all this hate. Guess what, if you go to Dollywood and any coaster isnt open you still have Cinnamon Bread....
I have done LOTS of trips where the coaster has been closed (There is a story that i get made fun of alot for in indonesia) or flown for opening and the ride to be delayed a few days (Lagoon last year). All that gives me is an excuse to go back to that park and see it again. When you already know how great Dollywood is, why would you complain because one ride isnt open, when it just gives you a perfect excuse to go back later in the year!

I was there yesterday, All of Twist coaster is now gone, just the footers remain. They were testing that weird autopia ride and it looks great. The new area of the park looked to be really nice and clean. Sad that all the new rides seem to be opening NEXT weekend

Disney's America that was proposed for Haymarket Virginia but got turn down from the locals. It was supposed to be themed and dedicated to U.S history. Also Marriott's third Great America that was supposed to be built near D.C. It's such a shame both never happened...

Yes, locals were very much against Disney's America and felt that park would ruin the "historic" character of the Bull Run battlefield and the town of Manassas. Of course, now the area is covered with housing developments, suburban strip malls, and Cracker Barrel restaurants. Oh, well . . .
Spot on, Chuck. It's really sad what the area has become. Fortunately, the Manassas National Battlefield is still pristine when you're on the property. It's a shame everything else went to hell. Getting there is a combination of driving thru a Nascar race on the highway and a ghetto filled with endless strip malls. Bull Run park is equally beautiful but much smaller, even locals don't even know about it which is sad as it's only 3 miles down the road from Manassas Battlefield. "Bull Run is the place that has all those Christmas light decorations that you see from the highway..." "Oh YEAH! Wait, that's a park too?" My family was always for Disney building there as it meant lots of money with incentives to keep things looking nice. Nature took its course, or something like that, and the reality isn't quite what locals thought it'd be.
>Locals aren't happy with a theme park honoring american culture
> Are fine with a strip malls
Yeah.
Sadly, i live 1 mile from the battlefield and this area is TERRIBLE. Even if some miraculous way the park had been built this area would of dragged it down......

^ $200 a day is a very good estimate when doing a trip with someone else. Although, if you're doing Europe in July, just make sure you are budgeting for virtual queue systems as each park. European schools usually break the first week in July and they can be PACKED beyond comfortable levels of enjoyment. We always try to do our Europe traveling coming home by around July 4th to avoid that. I can remember one year we did a trip that someone else organized that had us in Europe most of mid-July and it was hell. Would never want to do that again...
That is the plan, Europe is generally a time i would stay away from ALLLLL European parks, unfortunately with the new job it was written in to my contract that i could no longer take time off in June..... I think my old job got to them about me doing that
To the OP, Europe is also one of the most expensive places you can take a trip. The US is much much cheaper after you pay for the flight to get here.

I have done a reasonable amount of trips, both solo and with TPR. The TPR trips were definitely the way to go as there was no worries on what you had to do. Show up at the first location and then turn your brain off until the end. With that said, they were (obviously) pricier than doing it on your own (but way way worth it). I find the trip cost is not so much the parks, but everything around the parks. I lean on the side of staying on-site at resort hotels, or downtown city hotels, and those cost more. I also dont like to drive in most foreign countries, so i prefer to either set up car services or take public transportation. I can tell you that generally i budget about 200 a day if i am doing double occupancy, and 300 a day for single on my own, but majority of that is in hotels.
This summer i am doing a LARGE Europe trip in July (21 days, 24 parks) that has internal flights, and some other stuff. That i am estimating with airfare from the US and double occupancy is going to be around 4000, so about 200 a day, but that is also double occupancy and peak season so flights are INSANE. We are also going to drive around Europe on that trip except for one internal flight from Stockholm to Paris.

So here is the real question. Now they are replacing the trains and a substantial amount of track, will it be a new credit....?

Well, Post event depression is setting in. After a crazy 2 days in SoCal and a red eye flight home i am sitting at my desk exhausted and sad. The event was one of the best i have done! Thanks again to Robb and Elissa for an awesome event, it was so great to catch up with everyone and its so sad we all only get to meet up once or twice a year

The issue I have with the whole Dismaland thing is what is it trying to say? Is it a comment on theme parks or a comment on fairgrounds. I'm suspicious because I have worked in the amusement industry for 30 years
It doesn't paint a pretty picture of either and looking at what's inside, despite the fact I work 3 miles away from it I wont go.
It has become a celebrity must do and be seen there (another reason I wont go) also after it closes the site goes back to what it was, and abandoned swimming pool complex on the seafront that nobody can work out what to do with it.
after all banksy is seen as being subversive but he is still charging people money to go and see his concept park...and would you pay to see a pile of rubbish and shopping trolley?
I think you are missing the point. this isnt a comment on fairgrounds or theme parks, its our culture as a whole. It is taking somewhere that is supposed to be a happy place, and using it to showcase how negative the world can actually be. I had never heard of the artist before this, but this looks REALLY well done, and i am trying to figure out if i can make it over there to go see it.
As far as what will happen after, well that is a problem with our culture as a whole. There are many disused public places the world over that now unfortunately sit empty and disused.

I am happy to see this because i dont think anyone can do a worse job than Morgan. With that said most other parks we have seen bought by Venture capital is do the bare minimum in investments, then flip it (like what we are seeing now with CNL). I wouldnt expect anything BIG new, but at this point even paint and some customer relations training would go a LONG way with this park.

Here are my thoughts (Since most people on this site know i am the whore that will go thousands of miles out of my way for one more coaster).
For me it is about the experience, sure i love coasters, but it is not like i do these trips by myself. I travel with my friends and we have visited some very far and out of the way places. Its not about the Wacky Worm, or the roller skater, its about finding some BEAUTIFUL parks sometimes that are way way out there. In Indonesia we found at least 2 parks that would of been skipped if you just looked at large credits, but they ended up being LOTS of fun. In Nova Scotia canada one of the small parks took 20 minutes out of there day to talk to us about the history of there miler. In Guatemala we got to see a great zoo!
I am obsessive, and definitely what some would consider the worst of the worst of credit whores, but i have fun! i have been to 28 different countries and all 50 states to find new parks. The people i travel with though are friends that i love spending time with and i wouldnt change it for the world. I have ridden 1087 coasters, and next year am going to India and will be traveling around to get all there Worms and Water Chutes. I expect to find some great parks that most people would of skipped because there was no B&M/Intamin/RMC there
