  1. I'm in for both days!! Had a blast at ECB 2010 and the Florida Bash. Also, I am trying to talk my friend into going since he lives in VA.
  2. Well I haven't posted here in forever. Just to let everyone over here know, this project got a major re-working and ihas now reverted back to a Disney project. I won't bore you guys with the details of the project; instead I'll just show you a screen: Engine Co. 55
  3. After experiencing my first ECB last year at Kings Dominion, I'm excited that this year's Bash is close to home again, and it's early enough that I will still be home for the summer. Can't wait to sign up.
  4. I had a bit of discussion with my friend about this issue, and we both came to the same conclusion. We coaster enthusiasts are just a small niche in the theme/amusemnt park world. The park is going to with what the general public wants more than what we want. That's just business. Although, I didn't get the chance to ride it trimless, the brakes really don't kill the ride IMO. The ride really was not built for airtime. It's about speed and intensity, just like NASCAR. As other people have said, those of us within a fews hours drive of KD should be happy to have a "kick-ass" ride in our backyard.
  5. I just have to say that although my friend and I couldn't stay for the entire day, this was one of the coolest experiences I've ever had. Thanks Robb, John, Ed and the rest of the KD crew for putting this all together. Everything from the ERT to the entire lunch was fantastic. Here are some of the pictures I took on the walkback (all were taken on my phone since I forgot a real camera, so I apologize for the quality.) Wheeeeeee............ Airtime? The lift dominates the Virginia sky. Up the lift they go. Everybody had to get a closeup shot. Rebel Yell (not racing) 305 vertical feet of red track, and little support Anaconda transfer track.
  6. If KD is getting a new show for their theater, I really hope it's an ice show. After seeing the ice shows at Dorney, CP, and KI. I was actually quite surprised at how much I enjoyed the show. I still think that Dorney had the best ice show of the three. There was a certain surprise element that was just fantastic and really added to the show. So, I hope KD gets an ice show cause I think it would be a nice addition in their entertainment lineup.
  7. Ooops, sorry folks I didn't realize Snapfish required you to register, but it was the easiest way to get my pics from my phone uploaded. I will download them to my computer, and post a trip report at some point, probably not until this weekend though. Should I post my TR for ECB in this topic or create a new one in the Photo TR forum?
  8. Just wanted to let everyone know that I uploaded my pictures from East Coast Bash to Snapfish. Click me! There are a few extra photos from an earlier trip my friend and I went on.
  9. I've found that Shockwave really isn't all that bad, especially since the ride ops do a good job at making sure the pedestal is at the right height. I rode Vortex at Carowinds, and had to ride on my tip toes because I'm a short 5'4" the ride ops didn't check the pedestal. That was a rather painful experience. Even on Mantis, the ride ops checked the pedestal. So Shockwave really isn't a bad ride IMO. I just wish there was more to the ride than lift, drop, loop, helix, bunny hill, turn more bunny hills, brakes.
  10. THis project originally started as my own version of Walt Disney World in Florida, but after seeing quickly that I could not capture the Disney atmosphere, I dropped the Disney tag and created a fictional company (Starbird Hotels, Ltd.) to "license" this project. Even wfrom the Disney beginnings, the maps were only supposed to be semi-connected, and until this project got restarted due to computer problems. The new upgrade will feature a whopping 25 maps, so far I only have ideas for ten of the maps, and it may stay that way. Anyway here are the maps and attractions/resorts that will be featured on each map. Welcome Center Map: The Starbird Project Welcome Center & Museum, Ticket & Transportation Center, a train station Geyser Springs Map: Geyser Springs Campground & Cabins, River Country Water Park Meridian Lake Map: Royal Victorian REsort & Spa, Sa Ngoph Thai Resort, a second Ticket & Transportation Center ShoreWalk Map: ShoreWalk (Boardwalk/Downtwon Disney type area), Calypso Quay Inn & Villas, Decades Inn & Resort Hotel Boulevard Map: Avante Garde(n) Hotel, Crowning Jewel Towers* The following maps will only contain only the parks themselves: Starbird's Holiday Adventure Park, Casparona Creek Adventure Park, SNickelodeon Universe Adventure Park, Starbird Zoological Adventure Park* *name subject to change. The last map will be a sports complex similar to Disney/ESPN Wide World of Sports. Here are some screens from construction on the Sa Ngoph Thai Resort:
