  1. With regard to the general knowledge on the GP's end regarding boarding procedure, the whole problem could be fixed with in-queue videos explaining the procedure. Both Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm have these videos that explain the procedure to everyone, and while they may be annoying and very cheesy, they do manage to speed up load times. SFMM should invest the small amount of money necessary to produce and install some videos on at least the rides that have more unique loading procedures (ie Tatsu, Riddlers, and X2). I know that on Riddler's the loading times are always longer due to a couple of people who hop up and down on their seats before they get locked down because they aren't aware that that is how their seats will be for the rest of the ride. This would also inevitably save SFMM money in not necessarily having to pay someone to oversee the lockers and tell guests about the locker policy, as the video can do the work for them.
  2. Does anybody know if they're still selling the season parking passes? I had an Xtreme pass this past year and am looking at downgrading to a regular pass with parking because the new discount on Flashpasses isn't quite as good as the past. I was looking on they're website and couldn't seem to find anywhere that mentioned it. Is it something that has to be done at the park?
  3. This sounds great, but my question is how will this affect Xtreme Playpass holders? Typically when I go I get a free strip of 4 Flashpasses...
  4. It seems that almost every time I've been to SFMM and gone on Riddler's the load times seem atrociously long. They should have put in some TVs with a video spiel telling everyone how to put on the restraints and the standing and whatnot. This would really speed up the whole process and get people through the lines a lot quicker. With all of the improvements as of late, it seems that Riddler's is one of the last rides that really needs some work on it. Get the station dance lights working again and the add the spiel.
  5. I've always found the drinking fountain across from Ninja by the summit station of the Orient Express to be a fairly clean one. I rank it in my all time top-10 drinking fountains, but that mainly has to do with its location (top of the mountain) and that it always has cold water. However, yes, most of the drinking fountains could use some cleaning and work. It seems that at the restrooms that have them, only one of the fountains ever works at a time.
  6. A proper sit down restaurant is something that Magic Mountain is seriously lacking in. I always thought that putting one in in the Sky Tower would be pretty cool, I know I'd dine there. As it is, I usually go outside of the park for meals. What is that building at the bottom of the Sky Tower? It looks like it used to be some kind of restaurant with all of the tables outside of it. They could try and put some kind of dining up there. If that building isn't used for anything anymore they could turn it into a kitchen and use the second Sky Tower elevator to transport food in like a giant dumbwaiter and setup a some tables on the lower level of the tower. It's unfortunate that the lower level isn't suited to guests being on, but we can dream at least... Seriously though, does anyone know what that building at the bottom of the Sky Tower is/was?
  7. It depends on the kind of image stabilization that the camera has. Many cheaper consumer cams have a digital image stabilization that basically crops in from the sides a bit and then moves the image around to try and stabilize it. This can sometimes cause a strange blurring effect as the motion blur from the shaky image is still processed and it can also cause a loss in picture resolution. If you have a camera with optical image stabilization where its all done before the light even hits the sensor in the camera, then there's no real reason to ever have it off. If your camera has the digital kind, then you'll probably want to turn it off whenever possible to get better quality images. I know that was a bit technical, but hopefully it gets the point across.
  8. Anybody else notice that it seems that they changed it so that X2 no longer does Flashpass? I thought part of the station renovation was that they were going to implement Flashpass for X2, and now it seems that plan's gone to where the tunnels are.
  9. Couldn't they use this same TV system to broadcast current ride/line status similar to the electronic signs that Universal and Disney have? It would be rather useful to be able to see how the long the line is at a ride while waiting in line for another or to be able to check if Sky Tower is open while in line for something else. It doesn't seem like it would carry any real extra cost and would benefit guests substantially.
