  1. awesome. if only they'd take twister II down and bring back mister twister!
  2. you don't like ELLIS? how come? For the last 9 years, our waterpark has been ranked number one in the nation in terms of safety. it's kind of surprising but an amazing feat. Are you Red Cross trained?
  3. 2 things: 1.) Is this why only the wave pool, children's area, and tube slides are open at Island Kingdom? Because lifeguards aren't trained yet? 2.) The trims on the 2nd drop yes, but the trims before the tunnel were not there last year. And yes, I do remember something about slowing the trains down too. Which side of the park do you work on? Yes, that would explain why some of the rides are closed. I contacted them weeks ago to let them know I was ready and they seemed like they could care less. I was a lifeguard my first year-and in entertainment last year which pretty much has been cut despite the fact the new people say this year's entertainment options are the most yet-and so from experience I knew they would need guards as quickly as possible. Someone finally called and said they'll do some training this Wednesday but i am still waiting to hear from the actual supervisor because I still need to talk to him. As for the breaks, the picture I was referring to was the second drop. Two of your pics showed the second drop with trim breaks so I'm assuming that most people thought that's what you were referring to because those were added last season. I'll have to see about the tunnel and when that happened. (PS If you know anyone who wants to be a lifeguard let me know. There is a referral program just for the water park.)
  4. Hola everyone. My name is Jerome. I've been coming to TPR forever but I never really signed up for an account until now. This should be my third summer at Elitch's this year, provided I can do my lifeguard training this week which they have been holding up on. (I actually literally live across the street from the park too!) Anyways, enough about me. Those trim brakes on Twister II were added just a little over a year ago. Elitch's never received that much attention so maybe that's why people are just now noticing. Remember last year when they retracked Twister and repainted the S-curve? That's when they added the trim brakes. Originally they didn't use them but I remember my supervisor Nate telling me that the train was completing the circuit too quickly so they had to slow it down some. If anyone from here is ever at Elitch's, let me know! I'm a theme park enthusiast so it can get kind of annoying when you are around other people. (We went to go see Knocked Up the other day and it starts off with scene's from Knott's Xcelerator and Silver Bullet and I screamed and the whole theatre was like "Is that kid on crack?")
