Tobias94, i also live in Sweden and the papers always try to make something big out of "accidents". Lisebergbanan was closed during my last visit and there had to be some testing of Kanonen during the middle of the day, but that wasn´t written in any Swedish paper.

It was decided that the alternative for Västlänken that is best for Liseberg 99% will be the final one. That means the progress for the expansion can turn to "on" status again. The final decision will be taken in August. I will report more when the decision is final.

That the park fell into bankrupcty 1993, since then they have had a very small budget. The water park today have around 15 different activities and pools. But now with a new owner the future looks much better.

The park has made some investments to make the environment better. The Gruvbanan coaster is the old Berg-o-dalbanan, but it was rebuilt into the mine theme for 1998.

The plan is to build a building in the left part, to both reduce noise from the new park part. The building would contains restaurants, cinemas, shops etc. In a interview from 2006, it was said "There is a possibility that a roller coaster in the dark can be added at the new area". What Liseberg now is waiting for is to get the final decision where the new underground railway will be built. The decision will be official later during 2007. One of the choices goes just under the new area. I´ll post more about the future expansion when i know more.

Because just a decision is ahead of an further expansion of 35,000 sq.
