  1. I can't tell much with the shirt your wearing. I'm 5'7" and weight 240 lbs. I usually ride the front row and don't have any problems. Stick with the fronts of the trains and you should be okay. I begin having problems when my weight hits 242 and when I drop back to 235 or even 239, I don't have any trouble with the restraints. One thing I have noticed, don't pull the lap bar down on your, let them do it, otherwise you might get stapled and stapled good.
  2. True, but I didn't say Parc. There are other "international" buyers that could be looking to move into the United States. Village Roadshow is buying water parks in the U.S., I wouldn't count out Star Parks and some others.
  3. He is inventing stuff, again. SFA doesn't compete with the Redskins, there is no competition there. The Redskins would win hands down no matter who owned them and by the way, Dan Snyder doesn't like that stadium. If you search the Redskins forums there are all kinds of rumors about him moving the team back to D.C. and is designing his own stadium that will be part of his legacy. If you said he didn't want another owner to compete with Great Adventure then I might agree with you.
  4. I thought about this, the more I think about , the more I don't think it would work. The queues at SFA just aren't designed for Flash Passers, especially the old rides like Wild One, Roar, Mind Eraser. For JJ and Superman, if you used the overflow switchbacks to hold non-passholders and control how many people are in the station that might be one way, but that would require an additional staff member. Something SFA always seems to have problems with.
  5. Yeah... I seem to remember they were making a special exception when you were in the line. The way Coasterfreak is talking about is the way it is working this year and last.
  6. I think a general rule of thumb should be don't go to SFA during the weekdays until at least June 20th. Local school systems don't get out like they do in other areas of the country, creating a staffing shortage on weekdays between Memorial Day and around June 20th. I went yesterday, everything was running well, including Skull Mountain and the park was sufficently staffed. Unfortunately, I think part of the black eye for the park is those first few weeks in June when the rest of the country is out of school and they are still open. Local colleges have let out, school is still in session, graduations are going on and senior week in Ocean City is occuring. The same can be said for mid-late August.
  7. A lot of the fun riding Superman is the ejector air you get on the hills. That was shifted from the rear of the train to the front with the restraints that were added to the ride. You will pretty much get zero air the further back you sit. So if your a rear train rider, I could see your point of it not being fun. Ride the front and your going to get some really great ejector air. As for the park being "Ghetto". I don't like the term either. The park has done a lot of cleaning up the past couple of seasons. There are some rides that need paint and in other areas concrete needs to be replaced. In a few years, Gotham is going to look really nice. The trees are really beginning to grow in between Joker's Jinx, Superman and Batwing. It would also look a lot better if they would take all of the ride parts and move them out of sight.
  8. I was at the park today. I thought things were running pretty smooth considering it was the first day back from a very long weekend for the park. Everything was up and running as far as I could tell, with the exception of Two Face and Avalanche. I rode Superman three times within 45 minutes of arriving at the park (I could have rode more, but I chose to ride the front row which had a two or three train wait each time). In all a good day as far as I could tell. I arrived not sure what to expect (since I typically don't go on Monday's).
  9. I usually recommend people go on Sunday's between 10 and 2. The park is fairly deserted and you can usually get multiple rides on the coasters. Start with Batwing and work your way forward. See the Stunt Show, eat at any of the chain restaurants in the park, Uncle Roys has good hamburgers and the Saloon has a pretty decent meal of chicken strips, bean, curly fries, corn bread and desert for around $13. If you go to Kings Dominion your going to have fight lines for Dominator and Volcano.
  10. As I said, you wouldn't be happy even if they added B:TDK. The Flash Pass policy is the same flash pass policy at all SF parks. When there are flash passers waiting, they wait one train and then board the next. Again, your argument that there isn't any investment in the park doesn't hold water. There is plenty of investment, just not the investments your wanting.
  11. SF hasn't replaced any of the flat rides they have removed from any park. So, try again KDCOASTERFAN. From what I heard, you wouldn't like Batman :TDK and you would be complaining about how SFA was cheated. Footballteen, I wouldn't count on Two Face running when you go to the park.
  12. Same arguement/different site KDCOASTERFAN/BATWINGFANSFA? 1999 - Two Face/Joker's Jinx 2000 - Superman 2001 - Batwing 2002 - Off Year 2003 - Penguin's Blizzard River 2004 - Off Year 2005 - Hurricane Harbor remodel 2006 - Off Year 2007 - Off Year 2008 - New water slide Avalanche was added somewhere in there. Four new coasters in ten years. The park has averaged one new coaster every two years and your not happy. Yes, sure they probably should have spread it out a little more but that wasn't the mentality at the time but now they didn't.
  13. Season Pass Prices have been $50 since October 1st, 2007.
  14. We did? If we are talking Superman, Superman pretty consistently runs two trains from May through October. I think he was embellishing his story a little bit. Agreed!
