  1. Revolution will not run without shoulder restraints, they need to the ride to be insured and if thats what the company wants them to do thats what they will do. Its not MM's fault that insurance people/lawyers believe its necessary, and it will not change.
  2. Im not trying to start an argument, just pointing out the facts. I realize now that two employees standing there means this probably was not the case. If the ride ops were still there, it probably was down due to winds being sustained, it didnt have to be windy at that time. The parks office staff monitors the weather and wind speed and if it goes above however many mph the ride allows it will go down until it is sustained well below that. Their not stupid, they wouldnt keep the staff there if they intended on having it closed all night.
  3. Sorry for posting again but if you listened to the conference calls Shapiro talked about "Real Time Operation," which means if the attendance levels dont warrant a ride opening back up after that kind of downtime, the ride will stay down to cut costs.
  4. If the winds are going to be sustained above what is allowed for that ride I would assume the park wouldnt bother because it wouldnt be worth the trouble closing it down on and off throughout the day. And really, if you go to the park an hour before closing you shouldnt be expecting to have fresh doughnuts and my guess would be they close the gates early to keep out the riff-raff who just come to ride for the last hour and cause trouble. ....granted, all guesses, but they would seem like legit reasons.
  5. All SF parks now have/are getting the locker policy on their major rides, from the interviews and conference calls Shapiro has said SF will not be charging enough to making money off of it (in the interview he said "If I wanted to make money, I would be charging more) because of the extra employees they need, as well and installing the lockers. Shapiro said they tried making "cubbies" but the stolen item problem persisted and this would increase the rides capacity because the problems with checking guests height on the platform would be eliminated. He said that it was tested at SFOG last year and necessary adjustments have been made and it will be implemented in all the parks.
  6. Definitley Six Flags Great America. You never hear anything about this park because they dont really have a stellar coaster collection compared to MM and GAdv, but it is by far the best Six Flags park i've been to. All coasters were running with max capacity (Bull and Whizzer even with 3 trains) and none were stacking, thats amazing in itself. Also the rides there are in very good shape, the park and queue lines are well maintained and cleaned, also an amazement in itself. The ride operators are very efficiant in throughput (except Ragin Cajun, but I could see they were having issues getting the ride to dispatch without proper weighting) and amazingly are very upbeat in their job and do a lot of interacting with customers. By far the best selection of flat rides in the SF chain and they are all in very good shape (no ghetto carny flats here). They also play the Demon song in their queue ::COUGH PGA take note COUGH:: GAm's Hurricane Harbor is incredible also, very detailed theming and nice to walk through and a lot of aweosme pro-slides. The big surprise of the park was definitley Viper though, as we're walking through the queue line it looked exactly like Psyclone and man I was NOT looking forward to that! Then when we got on the ride (like every other coaster at GAm, no stacking like 20 minute wait) and went up the lifthill grabbed on tightly and hoped for the best. We go down the first drop and get some decent air and think "Wait, this cant be right" then do the turnout hill then go over the next hill and get some nice air again, and got confused. Then the next turnaround hill theres a double down and we got EJECTED out of our seat, insane air, then the next hill ejected out of our seat again, insane air, then a turnaround hill, then the next hill ejected out of our seat again with some awesome air then got ejected out of our seat again with insane air. When we went into the block break my friend and I looked at eachothother like "WTF just hapenned!?!?!?" Had to go on it again to verify, but yeah SFGAms Viper definitley kicked ass and is smooth, not bad for a ride that looks exactly like Psyclone.
