Spent yesterday at the park. The "cold" breeze (it was 55 degrees so not really) kept the crowds at bay. Things were slow to come to life in the morning but by 1:00 or so everything was up and running (except Superman and Batman) and running multiple trains (except El Toro).
With the slow start to the day, I did the Safari for the first time in probably 15 years and it was my first time doing it from inside from the park. It's important to get there early as they only run 3 or 4 trucks (this probably isn't news to anyone but I had no idea how sparingly they send trucks on this thing). But it was a fun ride through and the animals were very active on the cool sunny day.
Toro running good as advertised. Much better in the twister section. Still some jolts in the first half turnaround so hopefully after they do more refurbishment next winter it will really be running smooth all the way through.
Trying to get the paper cup plan all set up is aggravating and I was unsuccessful yesterday. I tried redeeming at a refreshment stand and the guy told me he couldn't get it to work in his system and I should go to guest services. I went there and the first lady said I didn't have anything in my account (which I do...membership all season drink plan) so she sent me to a supervisor. He said I could only get a bottle and I couldn't do the paper cup plan. So I got the bottle and dealt with that, but posted in the GA connoisseurs page to see if there was anything else I could do. They said to go member services. That ended up being closed. Then someone posted that they were able to get set up at guest services. Very aggravating, everything with this merger is just so messy.
Flash in front row with audio working was a lot of fun. Dark Knight and Skull Mountain with next to nothing working were also fun but I thought they had fixed a lot of this stuff during the off-season.
On one of my Nitro rides we slammed to a stop at the mid course and got stuck there for about 10-15 mins until someone came out to manually release the brakes. Got a single use fastlane out of it which was cool. Still running great as always on its 25th birthday!
Project Purple is moving along quick but so far there has been no movement on the new Boardwalk area that supposed to open in the next couple months. Not that it should take very long but I figured there would be some work done by now.
Also rode Mine Train, Medusa, Wonder Woman, and Jersey Devil during the course of the way. A couple small lines at some rides but many were walk ons. A nice day in the park!
