I've lived my entire life in California and I never knew real ejector airtime until I rode Magnum XL and El Toro.
I, too, have lived my entire life in California and I still don't know true ejector airtime. The most airtime-filled coaster I've ever ridden is Appolo's Chariot, and I really am hoping Twisted Colossus will teach me the meaning of what an "airtime machine" is.

I have never been more excited about a roller coaster in my life. This thing is looking SEXY. The high five is just awesome, I just can't wait for this beast to open.

I really do hope everyone runs to TC once it's open (and for years to come). The crowd needs to be divided up. Most people run towards X2 and Tatsu.... now people have a good reason to run RIGHT towards TC (and to a lesser extent Goliath/Yolo).
Yes, all the roller coasters were open I believe (except for Scream! because of the construction and such going on there). The only water ride that was open was Jet Stream.
is X2 really that popular? i always thought that the long lines were just because of it's slow loading dispatch. i haven't ridden it in a couple years.In my experience, it's both.
I agree with this. It's both slow (usually) and quite popular.

Went to The Mountain today, it was absolutely empty. Twisted Colossus had a big ol' crane extended to the top of the lift with a few guys doing something up there. Looks like it's coming along nicely. And about that comment on Facebook of Twisted Colossus looking boring and needing more inversions, the GP can say the most stupid things. It really is hilarious. I've been wondering how popular Twisted Colossus will end up being to the public once it opens and if people will flock to it instead of X2 or Full Throttle right when the park opens. It'll be very interesting to see. I rode Apocalypse today and it was not doing its best. It didn't exactly hurt but it shook my brain up and my experience was very similar to that of Roar at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, which I rode fairly recently.

I love the IAAPA coverage from this site! The videos of the joker animatronic, the Batman train reveal, and the Twisted Colossus train reveal were so cool to watch! Thank you so much, this time of year is the best

Twisted Colossus is in my home park and it will be my very first RMC. It'll be the only new for 2015 coaster I'll actually be riding next year, and I am looking forward to it very much. It's my most anticipated ride because it is the only one I'll actually get on, but Wicked Cyclone looks awesome. It's so tightly packed with nonstop direction changes and some nice looking moments of airtime compared to Twisted Colossus's more drawn out, mainly airtime-oriented layout, but they both seem very unique and intense and we'll only be able to really compare the two once they're both open.

Other than Sunday, what is a better night to go to Fright Fest in terms of crowds: Friday or Saturday?

^That's a tough one. The Tornado experience is, indeed, unique--sort of like I305 and a Mauer Sohne spinning mouse had a baby. (Well, that's an exaggeration. Maybe a Mega Lite is the father.)
Thank you for that funny way of describing it. Now I want to get out and ride Tornado and experience the insanity of this ride even more.

What roller coaster in the United States, in terms of intensity, is Tornado easily comparable to?

Okay did anybody fall off of that green spinning machine thing of death? I mean they were spinning around pretty dang fast on that and wow it must have been really tough to hang on.

It sure is nice that the giant lawn ornament is no longer blocking this view of Thunderhead. Although, I wouldn't be upset if a tall structure of the dropping kind were to block it again.
Although I have never been to Dollywood, a drop ride seems like a really awesome idea for the park and is the one big thing it seems to be missing. Right now the park has a very nice collection of coasters and many fun flat rides, except they don't have a solid drop ride. Maybe one will come sometime in the future?

I have to be honest, the setting and park that a coaster is in DOES actually influence my vote. While maybe not by much, but if let's say I'm on the fence about a placement of a ride, the park that the ride sits it could very well be a deciding factor for me. And I think it's totally fair to rank accordingly. IMO, ranking should be based on your entire "experience" not just from the moment the train leaves the station to when it hits the brakes.
Fortunately for me, though, I think most of my top coasters are in parks that I do actually like!
I totally agree with Robb on this one that where a coaster is and the landscaping around it really affects my overall rating because it's the EXPERIENCE that counts. Like take Scream for example at Magic Mountain. It could be SO MUCH BETTER if it was maybe built on a hilly terrain with grass growing around it... Not a PARKING LOT for cryin' out loud!!!

If my back yard were to have huge rolling hills of wood chips and dirt, I would have a beautiful looking RMC Iron Horse coaster with lots of airtime but no inversions and deep brown colored track. It would take complete advantage of the terrain and be awesome. For a flat ride, I would like an Intamin Looping Starship.

Hey did ProSlide have any new waterslide concepts they were introducing? I saw their waterslide park which looked cool, but was there anything else that was new or new-ish?

Alan seems like a really friendly guy who is easy to talk to. He makes it seem like he can do anything if he sets his mind to it, which is super awesome.

On another topic, I think GCII's Viper looks pretty nice, with some good airtime. Also, other than it being their longest coaster, is it also their tallest?

I kind of like the look of Coney Island's Thunderbolt. Kind of cute. And that little turnaround to head back to the station looks nice. Also, why in the world would the Beast be redone by RMC? That would kill every aspect of its rugged classic awesome beasty goodness.

It just didn't feel like they were really competing with GCII last season. I think it was just me, though and didn't really recognize the work they've been doing recently.
edit: I had even forgotten about their new Story Land coaster. But who do you think is getting more attention because of the 4 new coasters, TGG or Martin and Vleminckx?

Rode it 17 times today and my thighs are just completely bruised from all the airtime, and that's a good thing! (well, except for the fact that the only reason I stopped riding was because of how much they hurt). The airtime really was unreal and relentless and the ride was intense. So glad to have an airtime machine in California, and even better at my home park!
