  1. Here's what my cousin's neighbors did with their kiddie coaster.... It's on top of a huge hill and you can see tracks from the car running all the way down it. Looks like a lot of fun to me!
  2. To keep costs low, buy in bulk and look for the best prices. If you are using wood, to keep it stable put lots of oil on it, or paint it. Painting will help a steel coaster also.
  3. Yeah what deliriumtrigger said is what I meant. Sorry if it was confusing. And by the way I am girl! 8)
  4. If it requires a state inspection then I call it a credit... but there are some exceptions like the blue flash and jeremy reids coaster. Those are complete circuits but not legally open to the public.
  5. You will need to apply for permits or some angry neighbor will call it in and complain. They would then force you to take it down. Don't assume you can get away without one! If you're going to be spending that kind of cash you will want to at least have a plan laid out, it will save you a lot of money in the long run. Some basics heights, etc will help you to know how much lumber you need. And let me tell you, buying those bolts individually isn't fun! They cost about 300x's more that way, and that is NOT a joke!
  6. Steam or water will allow the beams to bend enough to clamp them down and dry in the correct form.
  7. Here is the finished train! Now I REALLY need a place to build my track! I need to update my website with some more pictures of the details on the train. There's a lot of little things to look at in it!
  8. Yeah it is functional. I just need someone's yard to build the track in!
  9. Here's some pictures of my baby, she is almost done! Unpainted train Small section of track http://omega.ipfw.edu/%7Emarschand/woodcoaster.htm And this is my website for it I want to finish the rest of the track but I need somewhere to put it first! I will show you more after the show. I have a showing on March 24th from 6-8 PM for it, and it will be there for about two more weeks after that. It's all painted and upholstered now!
