  1. We stayed at Aladdin which is under re-construction. It’s a great location right in the middle of the strip. This means the rates are good but the hotel lacks the wow factor. We didn't hear any noise or see anything really. Its nothing like Belagio’s or Ceasers palace but the rooms are good. We went to Circus for the coaster & the place is nasty completely different vibe to central strip kinda like a nightmare version of Vegas. Its too easy to spend time travelling around vegas as its deceptively big so location is really important. Aladdin was around $200 on the weekend booked via a website in the uk. You could also try priceline, we got some great hotels on our trip.

Road trip was, San Fransisco-Yosemite-Lone Pine-Death Valley-Vegas-Anaheim-Route 1-Santa Cruz-back to San Fransisco. Would have done SCBB but it is closed during the week at this time of year couldn’t do SFMM for the same reason. I was really clueless at the beginning but ended up doing, New York New York, fun fun fun but way bumpy Canyon Blaster smooth but quite tame still fun Speed, loved it, even after stealth at Thorpe Park we loved this launched ride KBF Halloween Haunt was soooooooo ,much fun my girlfriend was totally freaked in Grudge 2 and the whole atmosphere was amazing, really well done. We also absolutely loved Ghost Rider & the themed mine trolley ride. Disneyland Thanks for all the advice to go here we totally loved it & would have liked to have done 2 days. It was pretty busy when we went but still had time to do all the big stuff. Tower of terror! Loved it so much & thanks to the totally over the top American who made it even more fun “yeah man that’s what I’m talking about” etc. Space Mountain, Indy, Soaring & the whole theming & happiness of the place. I’m 33 & GF is 31 & we both loved it. So yep thanks again to all, really good advice from everyone & a ton of info in the threads. Now where for the next trip…………….
  3. Just wondered if anyone has been, KBF Halloween Haunt was so much fun. I just wonder if the UK can pull it off like the US. Anyone got any experience ? Thanks
  4. Hi all, just got back from my Cali trip, wow... anyway. On Monday, California Screaming was closed at 1st, later we went over to check if it was open. We saw a lady being helped off the ride by DL staff. The ride was stopped and she was walked off mid ride & helped back to her wheel chair. She didn't seem badly injured but I was wondering what happened. Anyone heard anything or is this a minor regular occurance ? Thanks I wanna go back
  5. Thanks Brent, Just so much to do ! I'll have a chat with the GF, she allready seems interested in KBF. Might get up early drive to hotel then to disney then to KBF, sounds like a lot though. but hey its once in a lifetime (so far).
  6. Thanks, yes I thought about that but I will miss Fantasmic that way + we will be driving from Vegas so may be a bit wiped out by then. Mapquest says Vegas to Anaheim = 4 hours, is that realistic ? I hope so as my trip is based around Mapquests predictions for journey times !
  7. So, me & my girlfriend spend the evening at either places, either way I am going to DL on Monday. Was looking at DL as Fantasmic is on & California Screaming closes on Monday. Am also really keen to see a bit of Halloween in the US as it’s a tiny thing here in UK. But I want to see Fantasmic & Screaming, decisions decisions. I guess KBF will be really corwded ? with long lines ? Any advice ? Thanks
  8. Following my questions in http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27422&highlight= Thanks for all the advice guys. I am going out to Cali in 2 days ! soooooo excitesd. This is not a theme park tour but we have decided to go to SFMW and Disneyland. There’s a few coasters in Vegas as well. I would have like to have gone to SFMM as well but its only open weekends at the moment & it doesn’t fit our schedule. I am thinking of taking Public transport to SFMW from San Fransisco Union Square, there is a ferry that looks like it might me a good idea, but there is also a BART station & bus. Anyone got any advice on this ? Vegas, will be checking out, Canyon Blaster, Speed & Manhattan express. How do these places operate, can I just pay to ride each specific coaster ? Any other Vegas tips., forget all the stuff at the top of the tower just to damn high. Planning on going to Disneyland on Sunday 1st October afternoon/evening, watching Fantasmic going on California Screaming as it is closing on Monday. Does anyone know if there will be fireworks ? Will return on Monday for the all the rest. Should visit SCBB while we’re out there as well (just checked, its weekends only ) Big thanks to all on this forum, there is so much information out there & loads about Disneyland & fast pass. A very excited waxwobbler !
  9. Texasgiantrules Thanks for the reply, I guess Disneyland would be great and I will have a good think about it. Of course its nice to have a romantic day but you forget the hustle & remember the rides. We recently did stealth at Thorpe Park England. 0-80 in 2.3 seconds, Funny how you remember the 2.3 seconds more than the 1 & ½ hour queue. How about waiting ? is this better handle at Disney land ? I have been to Disney world as a kid actually & I do remember it being very magical. I think SFMM must be like Thorpe Park, bit minimal not themed busy but good rides…
  10. I thought Disney land was more of a family, themed attraction type place ? I'm after big & fast rides..........
  11. Hi all, I will be visiting California at the end of Sept. I will be spending time in San Francisco, Vegas and driving around including route 1 up the coast. Seems to me that most of the park are around LA. I am probably going to avoid LA central and will be in the area to the North of the city. I am looking for somewhere with a lot of fast adrenaline rush type rides for me & my girlfriend rather than family/ Disney land type places. I really don’t know much at the moment but have seen Universal Studio’s and six flags Magic Mountain which has the new Tatsu ride. I would also like to try one of the really large & long Wooden roller coasters straight out of the movies. Are there any stand out parks that I should consider ? Or even parks to rule out ? Are they all near LA or are there some around San Francisco, also a bit off topic but a good water park recommendation would be much appreciated. Thanks
