I just got back from my second senior trip of the year (the first one was to Cedar Point! WOOOO!!!!!!), and our destination was none other than Hersheypark.
The deciding factor in traveling to Hershey was the addition of Fahrenheit, a rollercoaster my friends and I couldn't resist traveling to ride because of our intense luuuuurve for Maverick (my new #1 coaster).
But...I can't help but feel extremely let down by Intamin with this one. I mean...after the intial drop (which is hella-intense), the ride loses any and all momentum (both literally and in terms of excitement) it built up after the initial drop.
The ride just kind of plods along through the elements, and was entirely too forceless throughout.
While the first hill certainly does its job well, it almost seems too tiny to create enough momentum to make the rest of the ride's elements exciting.
Even the non-enthusiasts in my group (which far outnumbered me ) said that they felt the ride was "lame" upon exiting.
So overall, a big fat disappointment for me. But hey...the colors sure were pretty

Oh, and I have a full trip report coming soon!

Not wicked fun...more like wicked broken bones in your back.

I'd be willing to bet my life that this is an Aqua Trax coaster. Look at these pics (copy the link), and try to tell me otherwise. Maybe a launched Aqua Trax?
-
You're at band camp and your friend is eating pasta without sauce and you point at it and say "That's an Elissa-approved meal".
Yeah, I did that this week.

OK, I know everyone is talking about the new coaster at Busch Gardens Europe for the 2007 season...but if I'm not mistaken, it hasn't been confirmed as a coaster yet has it? Take a look at the sign...it says "Something New Dropping 2007" and has a bird's claw reaching down from the clouds...This really seems to me like it's going to be a large drop tower along the lines of Hurakan Condor (in terms of theming and whatnot), and NOT a coaster.
-
I like the theming and the direction you're trying to take the park in...but there are too many coasters in a small area.
-
I understand that...but was removing the Swing Around AND Kiddie Cadillacs really necessary? I just hope they are refurbishing them and we'll see them in a future season...because right now the diving show is very lame and looks very...um..."temporary".
-
I'm kind of unimpressed with the ones on AmazingEarl...anyone know of any other sites where rides are available for download?
-
Weetopia...that's the same thing I do! lol
-
I'm sorry, I didn't post it in all caps.
-
In response to an earlier post...The Kiddie Cadillacs were also removed to make room for a show this season...there is now a magic show in Kiddieland where the Cadillacs once stood.
-
Yeah...that one side on the Pitt Fall has been closed since last year.
-
I've been to Amazing Earl's and they didn't have a Screamin' Swing...anyone know where I can find a Screamin' Swing, or even a larger directory of downloadable rides other than Amazing Earl's?
-
Thank you both so much!
-
I would have to say that Milennium Force has the best tunnel...simply because it seems so small (GREAT headchoppers on that tunnel!), and you take it on at such great speed.
-
OK, I love Kennywood and all, but they seriously need to stop putting on shows in the park. I mean, the shows have always been horrible at Kennywood (anyone remember the Aeroriders? That was SUCH a joke!), and now we've even lost a TWO RIDES for shows...this season, the Swing Around and the Kiddie Cadillacs (a freaking CLASSIC) was removed to put in "The All American Diving Show" and the "Abra KIDabra Magic Show". The diving show plain and simply sucks donkey ballz, and the Swing Around was a really fun ride. And why they would replace a classic ride like the Kiddie Cadillacs is beyond me. Now, the diving show only looks temporary (people who have seen it know what I'm talking about), so does anyone think there is a possibilty that it's only there for this season, and a new ride is on the way? I know a smaller-scale Frisbee would fit nicely right in that area...
-
Well the Aero 360 has been closed all summer...hmm....wonder if they're having some major problems? We asked a ride op what the problem was and they said they needed a part for it from Italy.

I have seen many screens of RollerCoaster Tycoon2 where people have rides in their parks such as Afterburners, Frizbees, Rocket Coasters, (essentially things that aren't available in the original game). Can anyone tell me how to get these things? Do I need to hack the game? Or just download files? If there is a chance that this will effect my game in any way (not being able to access things, etc.), then I do NOT want to try it. Please help, it is appreciated!

Well, I watched a video of Thorpe's Rush, and Kennywood's definitely has a longer cycle...it also seems as if Kennywood's gets up to the maximum height a lot quicker...after only about 3 swings it's in full swing. It's hella-loud though.
-
I think this is going to be a coaster aimed at the thrillseeking crowd (not a family coaster as previously speculated), just a really tiny one.
-
Only one arm was working at Kennywood yesterday? That's odd...I bet that looked REALLY weird.
-
I'm shocked...I was completely blown away by your ride design. You should seriously consider sending this to Disney.
-
I didn't get a chance to ride the one at Knott's...I was there but I thought it was ridiculous that you had to pay for it. I can understand having to pay for rides like Skycoasters, but why a flat ride?
