Next up was the tour of the Locomotive Roundhouse!

Tom was awesome at giving us the history of Knott's rolling stock and how the steam engines operate.

They were getting both engines ready for operation that day so we were able to see the work that went into the morning checks and maintenance.

The "Galloping Goose" was one of the answers to the Great Depression when they still needed to get mail transported across the USA.

It's kind of like a "Bus coverted into a train!"

Seven of these "Galloping Goose" rail cars were built in the 1930s and ran through the 1950s.

"My name is Dan, and I am a Galloping Goose Fanboy."

We call this - "Robb tries to mate with a Goose."

OMG!!! ARTSY SHOT!!!! CALL THE GETTY!!!

Switch track!!! Railroad nerds joygasm.

Locomotive #340 - Originally built in 1881.

Knott's also has #41, known as the "Red Cliff", orignally built at the Baldwin locomotive works in 1881.

A look inside the locomotive maintenance bay.

Parts is parts!

The Galloping Goose has to be one of coolest looking "strange vehicles" ever created!

Of course WCB attendees were allowed to come backstage and take as many photos as our memory cards could handle!

Hello Galloping Goose! We see you!

Now those are some REALLY BIG wheels!

Bell. Duh.

"I'm walkin' with my train...walkin' with my train...."
