Our third and final visit to Tokyo Disneyland during this trip was between the Easter event and their big summer event. So for the first time ever, we saw the Tokyo Disneyland sign with nothing but "Welcome" on it! It was both kind of cool and sort of weird!

KidTums had some awesome princess interactions as they had a ton of characters out in the front area, just hanging around waiting to eat small children!

And even where there is no big event going on at Tokyo Disneyland, they still have fun little things to keep the locals having fun...

Our visit fell during "Tanabata", which is a Japanese tradition that tells the story of these 'star crossed lovers separated by the Milky Way" or something like that. In the Disney version, Mickey & Minnie play the lovers, and you can send them a greeting.

The Japanese people will write their wishes on these pieces of paper and these are supposed to be floated away or burned or something like that.

Here is what you are given to write your wish on. Honestly, it's just really cool that Tokyo Disneyland does tons of little things like this all year. Every time we come to this park there is always something happening! Fun to get these bonuses!

Ok, there are still a few major attractions we haven't hit yet! Let's check out Splash Mountain!

I used to work here...but not here!

The premise of Splash Mountain is simple. It's a log flume based on Song of the South. Most people now-a-days probably have no idea what Song of the South is, and I think most people just assume the characters were made for Splash Mountain. Anyway, here is a ride through video of Tokyo Disneyland's version...

The ride system, and the ride itself is almost an exact clone of Walt Disney World's version, except I believe it's a mirror image.

Anyone know what the hill is called? If you do...

RANDOM TIP!!! While it is not really advertised, there is a single rider line! Go up to the Fastpass entrance and tell them you want to do "Single Rider" - they will send you down the FastPass entrance, and when you get to the person who is supposed to take your Fast Pass ticket, tell them again you are a single rider. They will put you into a different queue, and you will most likely get right on the ride!

And yes, this version of the ride also has lap bars. Not sure when they were added, or if they were always there, but the ride vehicles and lap bars feel exactly like Space Mountain's. Very comfortable, and you really don't even notice them while on the ride.

You really see a lot of Brer Bear's butt on this ride...a little too much, really! =)

Hey look! Tokyo's "million dollar rabbit" actually works!

Once again, I find it kind of funny how the old America Sings characters were not only re-purposed in the California Splash Mountain, but then duplicated for all the other versions! In a way, America Sings could be the one "Yesterland" attraction that lives on the most at all the other parks.

Yup, another guy who used to be in America Sings, which by the technology of animatronic cloning, has found his way to Japan!
