Time to head back to the castle for what is technically the parks newest attraction...

Cinderella's Fairy Tale Hall opened just a couple of months ago as a new "Castle Walk-through attraction" which replaced the old "Castle Mystery Tour" that closed a few years ago. It's very, VERY, VERY different from the old Castle Mystery Tour, and honestly probably makes more sense themed to Cinderella, but the old Castle Mystery Tour was really cool, if not totally strange and bizarre!

Below you'll find a video that is a complete walk-through of the old 20 minute attraction that used to be in the Castle. It was closer to a traditional "Japanese Haunted Walkthrough" that it was a 'happy fairy tale' story. The crazy, Japanese woman, who frantically talked and shouted throughout the entire tour, took the group deep into the castle. Up and down stairs, in and out of an elevator, around corners, and through very, very dark passages (it doesn't look as dark on the video since I had the night shot on). In fact, it was so Japanese, that if any Westerners got in line, you were repeatedly warned not to do the tour because it's all VERY Japanese, and nothing is in English. Anyway, watch the video... It's really, um... "interesting!"

The new castle tour starts with this elevator. I'm assuming it's the same elevator as the old tour, but it was hard to tell because this is the first thing you do, but in the old tour, the elevator was in the middle.

Yup, we are in the elevator, no frantic Japanese girl yelling at us this time!

The walk-through takes you through difference scenes of the film presented by a variation of art styles. I've also included a POV video of the new walkthrough so you can compare the two. If you actually watch both videos, you'll see they are nowhere near the same!

Some nice paintings of the movie scenes...

Now this is the kind of service I expect in Japan!

Some of the displays were very cool, and even animated!

Others were made from more bizarre art styles.

More animated figurines...

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

There were a couple cute hidden characters...these guys are "Elissa Approved!"

No, Derek...the shoe ain't ever going to fit!

The best part were these magic paintings. Taken without a flash they look like this...but with a flash....

IT'S MAGICAL!!!!!

Another magic painting...what will it say with the flash?

It says "Derek has no friends!"

The Haunted Mansion is the answer to the trivia question "Which Disneyland attraction is located in four different Disney parks, but in four different lands?" If you know the different parks and lands...

This photo of Jeff Johnson was just taken about 15 minutes ago.

The ride itself is pretty much a clone of the WDW version, other than the stretch room is once again an elevator here. But the rest of the ride is like the version of WDW's Mansion, before the "crazy stairs" update was done. Still, it's really fun, and they also do a "Nightmare Before Christmas" make-over during the Halloween and Christmas season. Here is a video of that version of Tokyo Disneyland's Mansion...
