GhostRider Construction & Media Day Photos!
Knott's Berry Farm

On Dec 8th, 1998, Knott's Berry Farm unleashed their largest capital investment to date. GhostRider is the longest, fastest, and definitely the most thrilling wooden roller coaster on the west coast!

This Panoramic shot of Ghost Rider shows off it's massive structure.
The entire second half of the ride is located within the structure and is almost hidden from the outside view.

Ghost Rider's station still has a lot of work left. As you can see from this photo,
the track goes right over the station!

The station went up very quickly as did the lift hill and first drop just behind it!

The drop out of the station should allow the train to pick up a good amount of speed though the banked turn then up to the chain lift.

This model of Ghost Rider should give you a better idea of the ride's layout.

The first test runs are a success!

gr6.jpg (39065 bytes)
The initial drop is one of CCI's steepest.

The perfect parabolic hill looks like it might produce some decent airtime.

gr10.jpg (28092 bytes)
Just before descending down this drop coming off the first swooping turnaround, the train
maneuvers through an s-turn, them plummets down the drop!

The train hit's a little 'pop' just before entering the helix!
