Your favorite artist and work of art

My favourite work of art is "The guitar lesson" by Balthus. I love it because it's shocking. Too shocking to post here, most likely.

 

My favourite artist is Odilon Redon. All of the attached images are his, and in the collection of MOMA.

Dude, those are AMAZING! Thanks for introducing Redon to me. Gotta check out more of his works.

I like a lot, but right now, I'm diggin these two.

She does these awesome cutouts from newspaper paper and puts them on walls in NYC.

Okay, I'm sooooo not letting this sweet thread die on us.

Just ran into this beauty in a power point that my professor posted. I think it's absolutely amazing!

BTW...I'll see if I can snag a picture of the painting (set of two) that I am doing for my visual analysis. They also are truly amazing and have never been shown publicy for almost 40 years. To be continued...

One more thing...I forgot to mention how great Dennis's landscapes are. Good work young grasshopper! 8)

Tetons and Snake River by Ansel Adams

^I love the Tetons, that is the prettiest part of the country I've been to, and Ansel Adams is truly my favorite photographer.

I'm really into Banksy's work at the moment.

I dont know if this is the type of art work your talking about, im really into this guy named FONZEY, he does like tattoo art.

Believe it or not this is actually a painting in the form of Photorealism and I just love it, although it does make me crave for some doughnuts.

Although I do find myself a wee bit of a painter. My piece is titled Air Cadets, I did it for school and it got me an A for Higher Art and Design. Tell me what you think of it.

This isn't my favourite artist, but...

We have a corner building almost across the street from us. It's a former business bldg. which i think has been sold, and is eventually to be turned into townhouses with underground parking. It's sat for years, empty. But it's been used for two specific media projects, As a small gorcery store from the film "Better Than Chocolate" and a small liquor shop for an episode of "Supernatural."

Last weekend, a few drawings appeared up on the walls of the building. This happens from time to time, stuff being pasted up on it's walls. But this looked nice, so I got the camera out, and photographed all of it.

Sadly, it only lasted a few days, as somebody thought it right to take all the drawings down.

Critics.

From across the street, I saw this.

Shaky, hmm? It's part of the design.

Unfocused. But still great.

A few days later, all gone.

And then a few days later, after the drawings had disappeared...

This appeared in their place. Sadly, the one on the other wall was already removed.

I really like Salvador Dali's paintings. And this has to be my favourite!

I even painted a copy (well, tried to although it wasn't that bad) on an arts class a few years ago)

I wasn't sure where to put this but....

The entire sculpture is made from car parts!

Here's some recent artwork to buy, we found on our little "Island" in the city....Granville Island. Great tourist place but awesome for locals, too. Many food shops, and the place to OD on arts of all physical kinds and medias/mediums. There's also our Fave Home Restaurant......The KEG, where we enjoyed steak, lobster, and a few delicious sides (Crispy Grilled Cauliflower), for a perfect visit's ending.

P.S. This is a definite ADD-ON Place to visit, explore, eat and buy.......when you come to Vancouver, to ride our Coaster.
